I went to uni early in the morning so I could do some work for my assignments. Unfortunately, all I was thinking about was tonight's game. I gave up after having wasted three hours just sitting there trying to work. What is it with Champions League nights? They are so special. Anyone else?

I share your feelings italiamia. I am nervous, worried but at the same time excited. This could go anywhere. Heaven or hell.

I hope we got for the early goal, but not as desperately as we did against United last season. We must be disciplined and concentrated. I was proud of Roma after the mature performance against Inter, but I must admit we could be forced to put an even better performance than that against Real tonight. I expect a careless Real Madrid with a gung ho mentality. Let's get them!

Yes, I too damn well hope we do go at them and look to score first. To sit back and try and attempt play ultra-defensive football would be suicide, plus its not how this team operates, so I hope thats not the game plan tonight. If we score first it puts all the pressure on them and then perhaps we can sit back. Or just go and score and second. And a third.

Franchesco, good to see you back. You hit the nail on the head in saying we will see how much this team has matured since last year and how will we handle the pressure of stepping into a cauldron with a slender lead. We were 2-1 up last year as well and thought we were confident until things fell apart one goal at a time. I'm sure the players and the management have learned from that, and we have to be mature and realise even if they score first and even second it is not the end of the world. Just look at Fenerbache last night, two goals down inside the first 10 minutes and they came back to win on peno's. Still, us scoring first will be huge, and I hope we do attack them from the off and manage it. Vuci as the match-winner? He just may be.

So who will be at right-full, defensive Panucci or attacking Cici?

i would be inclined to see Panucci in the center with Mexes and Cicinho getting that right flank is Juan is seriously not up for it. as for Pizarro, we seriously cant afford to play him if he's not fit, he'll just be dead weight and ill learn to hate him a little more
