Ah, so that's what the ilromanista cover was about. Apologies for my stupidity earlier - clearly I should have downloaded the copy. dib-dab, the point, no doubt, is that if Inter don't come in and meet our asking price for Chivu then he's going to be left in limbo. Presumably he won't extend his contract, so the club then has a choice of whether or not to play him and, presumably, ilromanista are speculating about the possibility that he'll stay with the club next season but end up playing reserve football as some kind of disciplinary measure. Not a good outcome for all involved, no doubt, but perhaps a little threat the club is prepared to propose as Chivu and his agent seem prepared to try and hold the club to ransom. Since he's likely to compromise his status as national-team captain if he's not playing club football etc. etc. On gardening leave for a year - this is ilromanista's joke/suggestion.

Poor old Socc seems to have taken objection to the implication that the Avvocato's graciousness might have been slightly disingenuous. I look forward to reading Italiamia's responses on the 'morrow. Where are the posts about maro living with his parents? I haven't read those yet and they sound like a decent laugh.

Regarding Dino, I say let him stay. Bygones are bygones as far as I am concerned. There were times that enjoyed both his presence and that of Pdino whether or not they were one in the same. He might like it here. If problems arise we can deal with them then.
