Inter To Bid For Hleb In Summer?
Inter Milan are set to launch a summer transfer bid for Arsenal midfielder Aliaksandr Hleb, according to The Daily Express.
The Belarus international signed for The Gunners in 2005 for 13.5 million Euros from Stuttgart, and after a slightly disappointing first two seasons, he has exploded into form this campaign.
Inter are searching for a replacement for Portuguese veteran Luis Figo, who is set to retire at the end of the season. Nerazzurri President Massimo Moratti is a huge admirer of Hleb, and thinks that he will be the perfect man to take Figo's place on the left-hand side of midfield.
Moratti is prepared to offer Arsenal 19 million Euros in order to bring the 26-year-old to San Siro. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is likely to do everything in his power to prevent the transfer, however close friends of Hleb have revealed that he is flattered by the offer and is attracted by the move.
Hleb, who is also a reported target for Spanish-giants Barcelona, will be in Italy next week as Arsenal take on AC Milan in the Champions League last 16 second leg.
