Maro, yes, the Bolivian said I had a foreign accent. He knows I am Italian. I go to the Mexican restaurant because they are clients and the food is not so bad actually. This Bolivian actually went to my University on a Soccer Scholarship. So we talk all of the time. I have known him for several years and for the first time he says, "you know, I do hear an accent when you speak.." I am sure I have no noticeable accent. I think you would agree if you heard me speak. I have been speaking the english language for nearly 3 decades. I can even pronounce my "th's", which was a problem initially. You know, I would say "Antony" instead of "Anthony". Then there was the extra vowel problem like..."Yes-a, my-a name-e is-a Giovanni, I-a am-a the-a oldest-a child-a in-a da family.."

grassers, i couldnt agree more... its the little games that worry me as far as Roma go.

I'm confident we'll put in our best efforts overt the next month.. the only issue i have is choking in the last 5 mins or so. If we can pull a solid 90 mins against Juve and Real, then i think we have the potential to do extremelyyy well over ther next 8/9 crucnh games.

But alas.. its roma we're talking about... i wouldnt be surprised if we win the next 8 on the trot, and then draw the following 3 after that with the bloody minnows, and end up back on square one.

Oh fuck yes.. one more week!! I'm SOO excited.. not to forget Rube on the weekend to.. oh my oh my oh my.. what i wouldnt do to be there right feckin now!

Ah, pleaseda to meeta you - classic. It's funny how many consonantally
stopped syllables English has, isn't it? It's even more noticeable, I
think, with the Japanese, since other than 'n' and 'm', the basic building
blocks of Japanese are all syllabic: pureesedo to meeto yoo. I don't
know where it comes from with Italian, since the inflections of Latin are
quite different, though the earliest Western languages were all syllabic
(it's the big difference between antique Phoenician and the earliest Greek
and the move to the first true alphabet). He was probably just trying to
wind you up. It's funny how sensitive we often are about accents - I
remember 8 or 9 years ago I was told by a Kiwi girl that I had a very
strong accent and it kinda pissed me off; now, when I get told that I've
lost my accent and sound more English than New Zealandy I get even more
offended. Some would say there's no pleasing me. They'd be wrong, of
course. Just lay off commenting on the accent and concentrate on the
felatio and all will be well.

I don't think any of us can have any real idea of what team's going to
turn up against Rube and beyond. The boys are clearly going through a bit
of a trough, but then before the Siena game they'd been playing well and
putting together a nice run of results. When Totti is on he lifts the
rest of the team and Mancini's form ought to buy Il Capitano a little bit
more space. No doubt Rube will bring their usual blend of indomitable
spirit and abject lack of midfield creativity. I think we'll roll them,
though I'd be surprised were the margin more than three or four goals.

Could I borrow a 'return' there Maro...? I bet I could tell your Kiwi accent a mile away. I guess we are used to the English accent and so can tell when someone has a different twang to their accent. An Aussie, a Kiwi, its all the same really...

Jeez I really got the ball rolling, or should I say the tongue rolling, with this accent talk. Italiamia, I have a strong Dublin accent. I wouldn't go so far as to say I mispronounce certain words like 'wha' or 'alreet', as I consider myself an inntileecttuel, but a strong Dublin accent all the same. Here in Ireland things are simple – we have three types of accents – the first is a Dublin accent, enough said; the second is a country accent (anyone from outside Dublin, hence 'boggers' or 'farmers'); and third there is a 'Northy' accent, meaning people from Northern Arland.

Grasso, not sure who Jemaine Clement is, but Little-Bo-Peep is classic.
