I suspect Lomba meant to follow that up with a disclaimer - "no human is a machine [excluding, of course, the Fonz in the sack]."

One of the problems, of course, is that the managers prefer to focus on refereeing decisions rather than on their own players and the media allow them to do that. As you know, I was fekking furious after the Cunto handball because it really did feel to me that the ref was looking for some chance to help out Inter. Regardless, in so many other instances, the media will focus on a 40-60 penalty call or an offside decision with 10cm in it and pay much less attention to the fact that a player blew an easy one-on-one with the keeper or that a simple pass was missed, blowing a great opportunity on the counter. For me the most egregious case was the Arsewipe-Barca CL final a couple of years ago in which the British press let attention be drawn to the red card for Lehmann rather than to the two golden opportunities Henry had in the second half to kill the game off. When players make quite big mistakes, managers, for obvious reasons, are unlikely to hang them out to dry; when refs make mistakes in much more difficult situations, then they get hammered.

I'm still slightly concerned that Inter have had such a string of important mistakes go their way, though probably what everyone would like most of all is for Minchio to come out after the matches and admit that his team got a bit lucky rather than acting smugly as though it was his tactically astute decision to play Farina in the middle of the park or that his team had been trying all ninety minutes to exploit Cunto's well-known propensity to head the ball onto his hand.

I've made this comment a couple of weeks ago. The club topping the tables in Italy, ALWAYS get something extra. Sometimes its from the referees, sometimes it comes from the 'outside'.

When Lazio won the Scudetto - The Juventini complained about playing their last match in the rain
When Roma won the Scudetto - The LEGA Calcio changed the regulation about non-EU players just a couple of days prior Roma-Juve.
When Milan won the Scudetto - These were the days when the matches used to last 100+ mins..
When Juve won the Scudetti - No comment
When Inter won/is winning the Scudetti - Milan penalized & Juve relegated bla bla bla. Now referees corrupted...etc etc

This is the trend in Italy. A 'loser' cannot help but find excuses for his loss.Mind you, we have been on the losing side for years, so we are to blame too for this system.

And yes, I understand your sentiments on Inter receiving favorable decisions from referee's being aimed at certain Juve fans, I think that was my point.
