GALLOPPA READY FOR 'SPECIAL' MATCH

Siena's Rome-born midfielder Daniele Galloppa insists he will not allow his emotions to interfere when he faces Roma on Sunday. The 22-year-old is relishing the prospect of taking on the capital club, who he trained with as a youngster and who own half his playing rights.

"It will certainly be a special match for me. I am from Rome and I grew up there so I will probably experience some strange sensations," he told official club website www.acsiena.it.

"However, I will approach the game like any other and with the same mentality. "For us it is an important game and we will give our all as we have been doing in this period and we will look to take some points. "We are currently picking up less than we deserve because our performances on the pitch have always been positive. "Roma are a dangerous side on the counter-attack. We must be very careful not to get ahead of ourselves and, above all, not look to resolve the game immediately."

Galloppa claims he is not thinking about his personal future after some excellent performances so far this season have attracted attention from big clubs. "Honestly I don't think about it," he said. "I want to continue playing with continuity and give my contribution to help the team avoid the drop. "This is what concerns me at the moment. I live in the present then come June we will see who has the most interest. My reality at the moment is Siena and I am very happy here. I am living an important moment in my career.

"On a personal level if I had to stay here I would be happy but if I was recalled by Roma it would also be a positive move as it is a great club. "Our objective is, as always, to come away from games against anyone with our heads held high. If we think in this way the results will come because we deserve them."

The Robur have never beaten Roma at home in Serie A and, considering they have won just once in front of their home crowd this season, it is a record that could easily continue. The visitors will be looking to repeat the routine 3-1 victory they recorded at Siena last season as they try to keep pace with league leaders Internazionale, who are currently five points clear of Luciano Spalletti's side. A boost for Spalletti is the return of powerful midfielder Daniele De Rossi who has served a one-match ban. He will take over from Matteo Brighi who will drop to the bench. In defence, Matteo Ferrari will partner Philippe Mexes as Brazilian centre-back Juan is out injured. Veteran Christian Panucci will take over from Marco Cassetti at right-back. Romanian midfielder Adrian Florin Pit and reserve goalkeeper Gianluca Curci are also unavailable through injury.

The Robur will be without key playmaker Tomas Locatelli as he picked up a knock in the 1-0 defeat at Sampdoria last weekend. Brazilian midfielder Alberto could take over as coach Mario Beretta switches to a more conventional 4-4-2 formation. January signing Christian Rigano could be handed his first start for the club as he is in pole position to partner Massimo Maccarone up front. If this proves to be the case, Liechtenstein striker Mario Frick will drop to the bench.

Spalletti's not sleepless in Siena

Roma’s preparations for today’s game in Siena have been dogged by rumours that the club could be sold, but Luciano Spalletti is calm and focused. There have been reports in La Gazzetta dello Sport that the Sensi family, who own the Giallorossi, could be forced to sell due to debts of around £200m owed by the club’s parent company Italpetroli. Despite speculation that Liverfekkin'wankscum co-owner Tom Hicks could step in with a vast bid, Roma chief Rosella Sensi – daughter of Franco who took over from Ciro Di Martini in 1993 – has refuted any sale talk and Spalletti also seems unfazed.
