E poi c'è la Roma, società quasi in salute, in attesa di sottoscrivere con Mediaset un accordo da 65 milioni per la stagione 2009-10, ma già ampiamente «sfruttata» con le operazioni sul marchio e la cessione in leasing di Trigoria. La Roma dei Sensi è un club che si autofinanzia, che vive dei diritti tv e della Champions. Ma la Roma potrebbe anche passare di mano. Compratori italiani, pur sollecitati, non se ne vedono. Però c'è un fondo americano per cui sta trattando Jeff Slack, ex manager Inter, che entro pochi mesi potrebbe presentarsi con un'offerta. E allora per i Sensi sarà più difficile dire di no.

From what I can gather, it says Italpetroli, the company which Franco Sensi has a share in and so which is related to Roma, has these debts. Interesting bit at the end which mentions some American investor called Jeff Slack who may make a bid for Italpetro, which in turn would effect Roma. I too would like to hear Italiamia's take on this.

It says that the Sensi has only 3 assets which could be sold in order to rid their family's debt. The petrol deposits in Civitavecchia have a value of 100-110 M euros. The land in Torrevecchia have a value of 100M euros. Then there is Roma.

The more simple, if slightly misleading, translated version from Goal.com (below). Contrary to what this says, it isn't technically AS Roma which "has debts of €370m", but rather thats the total debts of Italpetroli. It is possible that, if it is to be believed that these debts have to paid off within three months, the Sensi family could raise the funds from other sources without touching Roma. If that were to happen though it could have repercussions for Roma's financial future. If the Sensi's were to sell though, I would prefer if it were not to greedy American hands, and preferably to a domestic based consortium, such as the Toti brothers.

Roma To Sell With Debts Of €370m
The Sensi family are being forced to sell Roma with the club crippled by debts of €370m, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport. Roma President Franco Sensi took over the club in 1993 from Ciro Di Martino, but after 15 years at the club it seems that his time is coming to a tragic end.

There had been strong reports in the English and Italian press a few months ago that Roma were set to be taken over. Liverfekkin'wankscum co-owner Tom Hicks, who has an estimated wealth over $1 billion, was the main name linked with a bid. However Sensi’s daughter Rosella, who is also the administrative delegate of the Giallorossi, blasted the rumours and declared that the club would always stay in the hands of the Sensi family.

maro, the differences is in the details. Like you said this was about the legal struggles between Webster and Hearts, which just accentuated how fuzzy the original law was. Before this I believe it was players over 28 3 years into their contract who could opt out, and this ruling decided to give the power to players under 28 as well as deciding the compensation - which is a fraction of what everyone thought it would be and thus the big deal. I think Hearts expected like 4.6m and got 150,000.
