lol. That there are Italian players within the Primavera squad is hardly the point - I should have thought any non-Interista would take that kind of thing for granted. The question is how genuinely committed Inter are to bringing the young talent through and that, of course, remains to be seen: "I am not criticising Inter for Mario here, because he is probably the closest thing to an Italian with any kind of future at Inter." No doubt you should be able to enjoy the irony that the first to get a little chance and to be hailed as Inter's next great young Italian is scarcely straightforwardly Italian. We shall see how many youngsters Mancini and Moratti prove to be patient enough with.

Maro it will all depend on how good they really turn out to be. At this age, they are merely prospects. However, as I said before, the youth ranks of Inter are practically all topping their respective leagues, and that indicates quite a few things about how Inter is investing on its youngsters.
Having said that, even if these kids get to have a blossoming future elsewhere, I wouldn’t be-grudge anything on Inter. Having a good ‘school’ is already a good step forward for anyone who supports Italy in general. Whether they end up playing at Inter, Milan, Sampdoria or Cagliari is irrelevant.

Oh, and by the way, I suppose Mancini fancies himself a genius today by starting Balotelli over Suazo. It was a good move by him I guess since he clearly wanted to win the game and this kid was a major part of that victory. So, I guess we should give credit where credit is due.

Lomba, I think Maro further established the point that I tried to make regarding Inter's committment to Italian youth. It remains to be seen if any of your primavera players have a future with the club or whether they will simply be used to bring in more Spanish speaking players. I have no confidence Moratti will do this for some of the reasons stated already by others. I personally think its an embarrassment that for years now Inter has shown no serious interest in developing Italian players.

I wonder now if this Balotelli was one of the kids I saw at a Luna Park in Montesilvano back in the summer of 2006. All I know is that these kids were huge for footballers. They were with their juve counterparts playing in some competition and the juve kids were equally as big. So maybe I saw a future Azzurri star or two that evening.
