Yeah I think it should be Brighi who gets the nod alongside Pizarro. He is close to signing a new deal so giving him a rare Serie A start will be good for him. Aquilani will be useful to spring off the bench.

Ok, the most important thing I want people to answer: Totti will be fit and playing this Saturday evening against Palermo, right...??

Yes, giallo-rossi, playing Perrotta deeper would certainly take something away from us going forward. I just have this feeling that Spags is thinking about playing the 4-3-3 a bit more often, probably particularly in away games against against top-class opposition. I think we've seen it at times this season already - I thought Cassetti tucked in much more in the Samp game which almost made it a 4-3-3 and there have been times this season when he's asked Mancini to play less as a trequartista and more as a true wing-forward (Spags talked about this after he missed the penalty against Sporting, but I also thought he took up some interesting positions in the second half on the weekend). I just think that without Taddei and Perrotta, the balance of the side is a bit more precarious and that players like Vooch, Mancini and Esposito, and probably also Giuly, are more suited to play a little bit further forward rather than as trequartisti. So, all in all, when he wants us to play in a slightly more compact manner (away against Real?) and when the balance of the side is slightly upset with the absence of Perrotta or Taddei, I have a feeling he's going to tweak things just a little bit and ask Perrotta to play a little deeper and get forward slightly less often. I also think the 4-3-3 is the best shape to include Aquilani, Perrotta, and DDR because Aquilani's a more dynamic player than Pizza (not that I'm suggesting we sit Pizza; on those occasions when he's not on the pitch, though).

I thought it was quite extraordinary to watch the difference the three-man midfield made for Milan in their games with ManUre last season. With Ambro, Gattuso, and Pirlo together they found it very easy to double-team Ronaldo where we gave him much more space to get one on one with the fullbacks. Of course there was more to it than that, but if you look at the defensive games Gattuso and DDR had, it was striking how much harder our team shape made it for DDR. I'd like to see Spags trust Brighi - I think he deserves the trust. I just think we may see a little more 4-3-3 as the season unfolds.

i think it's going to be Brighi and Aquilani....... with Taddei and Cassetti as options........ i read somewhere, something happened to Pizarro AND Perrotta to add to Juan and Totti being out
