I managed to see the last half hour or so of Pato's debut game there last weekend, and boy did he look the part. Such great composure and confidence for one so young. If you like, we can do an exchange deal of Doni for Pato, perhaps...?

So, all the media bullshit aside, can we expect any new arrivals for Milan this transfer period? Or will maybe Costacurta come out of retirement? Or Ancellotti, even?

pirlo's absence will be huge, but i don't want to think it will be the key. we should still manage a win without him, as we have plenty of talent on the pitch. we just need to come up with tactics that don't rely on him that much.

i can't see us playing a three man defense in an important match at all. there's just too much to lose. none of the big clubs use that any more.

shield, i honestly don't believe we will see any more additions to the team this january, as much as i would love to see some reinforcements. to me, our goalkeeping situation is desperate, but the management don't see it that way. we also really need a fullback. still, i would be surprised if we did anything to strengthen these gaping holes.

we're withstanding heavy pressure, but kalac is pulling rabbits out of his ass.

pato is doing good, hes tking defenders on and beating them, but not much movement.

pirlo really does alot..

half time now.

udinese really came back in the middle of the half, around the half hour mark they were putting on a show.

as for us, we're not counterattacking much, and we arent committing to many men forward. bonera has not made one run upfield from his spot at RB, and hes getting torn to shreds by di natale.

kalac is so far our player that stands out.

pirlo's absence is killing us and kaka' is dropping back deep to collect the ball.

seedorf needs to get in more, hes waiting for the ball to be played to him; hes gotta take the game by the balls and start feeding kaka' and co.

theres only so much pato can do, but he did have a go at zapata and won.

ronaldo has been our only threat, hopefully we'll see more..

yup, pirlo's absence really was felt today, and we were really close to seeing it be the difference, but gila saved us at the death. seedorf really can't expect the same service without prilo in the lineup and has to be more involved in getting the ball. especially when jank is still out and we are ineffective down the flanks. gila may have just earned himself a start in the next day with that goal.

Im happy now we have a good amount of choices up top. but the thing that i absolutely hate is with that goal by gila pippo is now last on the list of forwards 1.pato2.ronaldo3.gila4.pippo.

i hope pippo shows his true fighting underdog character and gets back to scoring asap. this last part of the season will be his swansong, JUST WATCH

What an amazing finish....during the game, I was already thinking about how close we'll be to missing out on CL, I was frustrated with Carlo's choice of fullbacks (well Favagol was our only option on the left so no choice there) but YET AGAIN playing Bonera as RB, while decent defensively, offers ZERO offensively, furthermore, Carlo's lack of subs was another reason of frustration, but one sub and one goal could be the difference between CL or not, an absolutely critical goal and what a great combo. Im happy for Gila, a plyer that I have faith in, just wanted him to show he can contribute as a main player should and today he did. Kind of a Pippo goal where makes the most out nothing and positioned himself perfectly. But Im not really happy with Carlo today.

Our midfield was OK but nothing more. I thought Rino was a monster and did his job defensively, of course he's not expected to do the work for us in the other half of the pitch, this is where we lacked. Now we get our most important player back, and even if Gila didn't score today I think he should start on Wednesday as we have plenty of games for rotation and R99, at least for now, should not be fielded every 3 days

Kalac was good. Unlike Dida, I think he's a mentally strong player who steps up when needed the most. Over his Milan career, he's always played well in the Serie A and CL games that mattered. Only screwed up in almost useless games, I do think he's the better option for us at the moment
