Quagliarella To Move To Inter?
Inter are eyeing a move for Udinese's Fabio Quagliarella in the Summer according to Italian media reports.


The Via Durini club will not be signing anyone else in the January transfer window, however they may make a swoop for Quagliarella in June.

It seems as if Inter are keen on the striker and he would be the perfect replacement for Adriano should he stay with Sao Paulo.

Quagliarella has impressed this season and he has scored six times in his last seven appearances for the Friulian club.

He has also broken into Donadoni’s Nazionale and is certain to feature for the Azzurri in Euro 2008.The player is a top class striker and would have no problem integrating with the Nerazzurri superstars.

According to the Italian press, Massimo Moratti is looking to strengthen his attacking department given that Inter are comfortable in defence and in midfield.

Reports have suggested that Quagliarella is top of sporting director Marco Branca’s list. It seems as if Inter were interested in landing the Udinese striker last Summer but then they gave up and signed David Suazo instead.

Moratti recently spoke of his desire to sign an Italian player and Quagliarella falls into that category, however it might prove difficult given that Udinese value him at around 18m Euro’s but this could lead to a swap deal with Hernan Crespo as the striker is hardly playing under Mancini.

MILAN - Three goals, four first team debuts, and a double 'derby d'Italia' on the horizon.

Inter beat Reggina 3-0 at home to complete a 7-1 aggregate victory and set up a Tim Cup quarter-final meeting with Juventus.

Reggina's Emmanuel Cascione had a hand in the first two goals, turning into his own net twelve minutes after Hernan Crespo's deflected opener.

Cesar completed the scoring in added time at the end of the second half.

Roberto Mancini handed goalkeeper Enrico Alfonso his first start between the posts, with Primavera pair Fatic and Bolzoni in defence and midfield.

Two more youngsters, Balotelli and Pelé, had shots blocked by Novakovic as Inter dominated the early stages.

Solari then curled wide before Balotelli narrowly missed from a long-range drive.

Reggina's first chance came on the half hour when Koris forced Alfonso into a tipped save with a well taken shot from distance.

But Inter were always in control and took the lead in the 33rd through Crespo, whose 20-yard shot went in off Cascione.

Crespo went close to a second on 41 minutes, controlling a precise long-range pass from the impressive Pelé before sending his angled shot inches wide.

The Nerazzurri made extra sure of their place in the last eight on the stroke of half time.

Cascione intercepted Balotelli's pass for Crespo and unwittingly turned into his own net.

Inter made a half time switch, with Luca Siligardi replacing captain Dejan Stankovic.

The Nerazzurri almost scored again seconds after the break, Balotelli's overhead kick finishing on the roof of the net after Crespo lobbed Novakovic.

Reggina's best chance of a reply fell to Tullberg who tested Alfonso with a bicycle kick.

In the closing stages Mancini brought on Marco Filippini and his son Filippo Mancini for their first team debuts.

Inter weren't done and Cesar added a fine goal in added time.

The Brazilian collected a pass from Balotelli, made a solo run into the box and lifted over Novakovic from the tightest of angles.

MILAN - His happiness is double. Roberto Mancini saw his Inter play well and win in the Tim Cup. He also had the chance to hand a first team debut to his son Filippo.

"The boys did well. It wasn't easy to find the right motivations in games like these," said Mancini after the win against Reggina.

"But we have always wanted to do well in the Tim Cup and we still do, with a policy of giving playing time to the youngsters, playing those who have played less to keep them in condition, and win.

"I have never seen anyone go on the pitch to lose, not even in matches between friends.

"The quarter-final against Juventus will obviously be completely different, but our attitude won't change and we will still give room to our Primavera players. There won't be ten of them, but some will definitely be there with us."

On the first team debut of his son Filippo, the Inter coach said: "I think he was excited at the start, just like I was, but the most important thing is that he could feel the emotion of a first time, just like all the other Primavera boys. These are important steps for him and all the others in terms of enjoyment, which is the best aspect of football.

"I'd like to see him become a footballer and I'd like to see become one at Inter, but it's still too soon to say all this. Filippo is lucky - he made his debut for Inter. It wasn't the same for me..."

Returning to his team's performance against the Amaranto, Mancini added: "Stankovic did well, Rivas and Burdisso gave away very little to their opponents, and Crespo, Solari and Cesar had the chance to get minutes in their legs. They will all be useful in this phase of the season with all the matches we have.

"I thought Pelé did very well. He has great quality. He still has to gain experience and still has to get used to Italian football, but he is very talented and really wants to learn. Balotelli? Mario knows he can do a lot more.

"I think Maniche will have his transfer document in time to play against Parma. He's in good shape, he has done very well in training, and he can be useful to us starting from the game against Parma."

Menez Issues Come And Get Me Plea To Inter
Monaco midfielder Jeremy Menez is hoping for a move to Inter in June, as he feels ready for a big club and European competition.

Despite his young age, Menez feels mature enough to join an important club in June, even though he feels happy enough at Monaco, where he is under contract for a further two years.

"At Monaco I feel fine, but it's normal that every player aims to play in the big international competitions, and I feel ready now for any stage," declared the 20-year-old midfielder.

Menez is wanted by various major European clubs, but he seems eager to join the Nerazzurri.

"Inter never searched for me, but I admit that it would represent a seductive option," declared the French player.

The Italian league leaders have just signed Maniche from Atletico Madrid and their midfield line looks complete at the moment, especially once all the injured players return. However, in June they might take into consideration the option of signing this coveted young talent.

Adriano Key For Ronaldinho To Inter?
According to Italian daily 'Tuttosport', Inter could join the race to sign Barcelona midfielder Ronaldinho, thanks to Adriano's recovered form in the shirt of Sao Paolo.

The Nerazzurri's decision to send Adriano on loan to Sao Paolo seems to be paying off as the player scored two goals for his new club and is on his way to recovering his best form.

Inter are in fact currently monitoring the development of the possible transfer of Ronaldinho to Chelsea, and following the latest glitches in the negotiations, president Massimo Moratti seems oriented towards making an offer to Barcelona for the services of the Brazilian playmaker.

Adriano could therefore be used by Inter as a way to decrease the hefty tag price of Ronaldinho either by part-exchanging the player with Barcelona, or selling him elsewhere to make as much cash as possible for the operation.

If Adriano continues on this current form, it will be easy to have the player re-valued after losing a lot of admirers in recent months due to his terrible form. This way, Inter will manage to make an important profit which might pave the way for Ronaldinho

Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Internazionale are looking into the prospect of signing Barcelona starlet Giovani Dos Santos...

The young Mexican international is said to have a major admirer in the form of Inter president Massimo Moratti.

While the San Siro supremo's dream signing was and remains Lionel Messi, the young Argentine is out of his reach: Giovani, however, is somewhat more obtainable.

The player's agent, Pini Zahavi, is yet to thrash out a contract renegotiation deal with the Camp Nou hierarchy; that, combined with Giovani's relatively low release clause, could signal a potential move elsewhere.

Inter are said to be watching the situation closely as they look to land big names for their centenary, with Zahavi also keeping his options open.

Giovani, 18, is a full Mexican international. He has made three Liga starts and eleven sub appearances thus far this season.

«Faccio altre due premesse. La prima: Mancini è un grandissimo allenatore, che ha fatto bene e farà ancora meglio con l'Inter. La seconda: io a Mancini devo anche dire grazie, perché con me ha parlato tanto e ha anche cercato di darmi fiducia, di aiutarmi».

Lui ha detto: come se fossi un fratello maggiore.

«Se uno è un fratello, è un fratello. E fa il fratello. Io quest'anno avevo bisogno di aiuto e forse non l'ho avuto fino in fondo. Magari non c'era più tempo, o la possibilità, però è stato così. Ecco: ognuno ha la sua personalità, ma per come la vedo io, un allenatore dovrebbe essere un po' più tranquillo con i giocatori, riuscire ad avere un rapporto più "umano"».

Possibilità di riuscirci, quando tornerà?

«Io intanto spero di tornare e poi possiamo provarci ancora, anche se non sono sicuro che ci si possa riuscire: credo che nessuno possa dirlo, oggi. E se non dovesse andare, deciderà Moratti, decideremo: io certe situazioni non voglio più riviverle e magari si potrà anche arrivare alla conclusione che è meglio che io me ne vada».

Al Milan?

«Chiunque al mondo fa il nostro lavoro dice che giocherebbe volentieri nel Milan e in questo io non sono diverso da tutti gli altri. Io sono diverso perché sono dell'Inter ed è lì che voglio tornare: però se per me non ci sarà una chance nella mia squadra, dovrò considerare qualunque ipotesi. Ma è molto presto per farlo, ho altro per la testa: adesso devo qualcosa a me stesso e al San Paolo».
