Maicon To Leave Inter Due To Poor Contract?
Inter star Douglas Maicon may consider leaving the club unless his current wages are improved, according to reports in Italy.

The Brazilian signed for the Nerazzurri from Monaco in 2006 for just €6m, however he has since established himself into arguably the best right back in the world, along with Sevilla’s Daniel Alves.



Maicon’s current wage at Inter does not match his reputation, and his €1.5m a season earnings are comfortably the lowest in the club’s first XI.



The 26-year-old has been calling for an improved deal for several months now, however his agent Mario Rosi is encountering repeated difficulties with Inter.



As a result Maicon is starting to consider his future at the Scudetto-holders and may opt to move elsewhere unless he receives what he feels he deserves.



The ex-Cruzeiro star certainly wouldn’t be short on suitors as the likes of Chelsea, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all huge admirers. Indeed Chelsea had a bid of over €30m rejected by Inter in the summer just past.



Maicon has made 15 Serie A appearances this season, scoring one goal.

MILANO - Maniche è dell'Inter. Questa mattina, dopo aver completato le visite mediche di prassi, Nuno Ricardo De Oliveira Ribeiro, nella sede di Palazzo Durini ha firmato il contratto che lo legherà alla Società fino al 30 giugno 2008.

Centrampista, nazionale portoghese, è stato acquistato dal Club Atletico de Madrid in prestito con diritto di riscatto. Terminate le pratiche burocratiche, Maniche, accompagnato dai suoi manager, ha pranzato con il tecnico Roberto Mancini, il dt Marco Branca, il consulente di mercato e addetto ai rapporti della prima squadra Gabriele Oriali. Nel pomeriggio, al centro sportivo "Angelo Moratti" di Appiano Gentile, la prima seduta d'allenamento con il preparatore atletico Antonio Bovenzi.

La conferenza stampa di presentazione del nuovo acquisto dell'Inter, che ha scelto la maglia numero 28, è in programma domani, mercoledì 16 gennaio 2008, al centro sportivo "Angelo Moratti" di Appiano Gentile (ingresso stampa ore 13,30).

Amantino Mancini l’erede di Figo

Mancini non rinnoverà con la Roma e potrebbe vestire la casacca nerazzurra nella prossima stagione. Potrebbe essere lui l’erede di Luis Figo. L’allenatore di Jesi avrebbe avvallato l’acquisto. Alla Roma andrebbero 13 milioni più Burdisso, mentre al giocatore 3,5 milioni di euro a stagione per 4 anni.

Il Milan s'è defilato, Moratti prova il colpo per il centenario.

Berlusconi l’ha se­dotto e (al momento) abbando­nato. Tuttavia il futuro di Ro­naldinho potrebbe essere ugualmente a Milano, ma non al Milan, bensì all’Inter. Ope­razione benedetta tanto da Nike che, dopo aver posto le ba­si per un accordo decennale con Palazzo Durini, agevole­rebbe di buon grado lo sbarco in nerazzurro di un altro suo uomo copertina dopo Ibrahi­movic;
quanto dal marketing nerazzurro, che vedrebbe tri­plicati gli introiti alla voce merchandising e gli ingaggi per tournée e amichevoli a get­tone.

In più, fatto per nulla tra­scurabile, Moratti regalereb­be ai tifosi un gran colpo per celebrare al meglio la chiusura dei festeggiamenti per il cente­nario e regalerebbe a se stesso - 11 anni dopo Ronaldo - un fuoriclasse che farebbe lievita­re la fama dell’Inter un po’ of­fuscata dai trionfi mondiali del Milan berlusconiano. Ultimo, ma non certo trascurabile par­ticolare, il fatto che a Mancini servirebbe come il pane un uo­mo gol di primo livello conside­rato che di Adriano si sono praticamente perse le tracce e che tanto Crespo quanto Cruz hanno già ampiamente oltrepassato i trenta anni.

L’operazio­ne presenta oggettive difficoltà. Tuttavia la concorren­za su Ronaldinho sembra es­sersi ridotta ai minimi termini: il Milan, si è defilato mentre il Chelsea è gradito al giocatore ma non...allo sponsor, che spinge per l'Inter. Nel caso non riuscisse il colpaccio, Moratti avrebbe comunque intenzione di togliersi uno sfizio sempre a Barcellona con Giovanni Dos Santos, che tra l'altro ha anche qualche annetto in meno del compagno brasiliano.

Nike Money Pushing Inter Towards Ronaldinho

In what is yet another example of financial and marketing power dictating matters football, Inter are supposedly ready to splash the cash on Ronaldinho.

Italian sports daily Tuttosport claims that Inter president Massimo Moratti is looking to bring the unsettled Barcelona ace to the club as part of the Nerazzurri's centenary celebrations.

AC Milan's interest in the Brazilian superstar is said to have cooled, but as Chelsea are still interested, Moratti could face some competition.

However, a new Nike sponsorship deal - lasting ten years - has given Inter the financial means to offer an attractive package to the Brazilian, who may in any case welcome a move to Italy depending on how the rest of his season goes at Camp Nou.

Nike's close relationship with Ronaldinho is no secret, of course, and they feel that Inter will become a far more lucrative proposition worldwide with The Gaucho on their books.

Of late, Italian clubs have fallen behind in the marketing sense, unable to match the global pull of the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Arsenal, and Moratti is interested in correcting that.

What is more, the Brazilian practically pays his own salary, and more, so apart from the one time transfer fee that the Nike deal can finance, Inter will not have to spend a penny on the player.

Neither Barcelona nor Inter have yet to comment on this speculation, but Tuttosport claim that Inter coach Roberto Mancini is also keen on the switch due to the aging nature of his current front line, particularly Hernan Crespo and Julio Cruz, who are both now on the wrong side of 30.

Ronaldinho missed out on his side's 0-0 draw with Sevilla last night, and has yet to feature for Barcelona after he was humiliated following the El Clasico defeat to Real Madrid.

Nike also have a close relationship with Barcelona, but Ronaldinho is no longer the runaway leader in terms of marketability as Thierry Henry and Samuel Rto'o, but most importantly Lionel Messi, move up the ladder. A move might just be the best option for all four parties involved.

Maniche, what's your first impression of Inter?
"I have only been here a few hours. Inter is a great club, it's very organised, and everyone knows what to do. This is very important because in this way a player can just concentrate on playing - the most important thing of all. My first impression is of an organised and well structured club."

Looking at your profile, we can see that you have changed teams a lot in recent years. Does this mean you miss Portugal?
"No, I don't think so. You never know what you're going up against when you change team. There can be favourable and unfavourable situations. The most important thing now is that I am here with the certainty that I can do well."

We can also see on your profile that you have won a lot, particularly in Europe. What do you think you can bring to a squad that is aiming to win the Champions League?
"Inter's players are very experienced and a lot of them play for their national teams. For me it will be important to fit it as best I can, and I can only do this by working hard. I'm not on holiday here, I want to work hard to achieve our team's goals."

An indispensable quality to win the Champions League?
"The secret is being a united group, a big family with lots of complicity between team-mates and coach. I am fully aware that it's very difficult to win the Champions League, but Inter have all the qualities needed to succeed."

Which position on the pitch do you prefer? How do you think you will fit in to the Inter team?
"There are a lot of expert players at Inter. I am a team player and not an individual, so I think my insertion will be easier. And in any case, the great quality of the champions here will help me."

Will you play in the Tim Cup tomorrow?
"I am in shape and I was ready when I arrived from Atletico Madrid. If the coach decides to play me, I am at his complete service."

What was your impression of Inter before arriving here?
"Arriving in this period could certainly make my insertion harder, but I like risks and difficulties, and I'm sure everything will go for the best. Here there are players I already knew, and important players like Cambiasso, Zanetti and Materazzi, for example. The help of all my team-mates will help me achieve good results."

Have you spoken with Luis Figo? What did he tell you?
"He spoke highly of Inter. He said I will settle in easily because I'm joining a group that loves running and working well to win. All this makes me feel calm and makes me feel certain that my adaptation will be the best possible."

You have always been a regular in every team you have played for. Is this a new challenge?
"It's every player's goal to play. I realise there's stiff competition for a place in the Inter team, but I am available and I will be happy if the coach decides to play me. If he doesn't, there won't be any problems because I respect the coach's decisions."

You arrive here from the Spanish Liga. Do you know any other players who play in Spain and who might be ready to join Inter?
"The Liga is a great championship and some of the best players in the world are there. Any great player would be welcome, just like at all the big clubs."

Is it one of your goals to be bought by Inter at the end of the season?
"My main goal right now is to train well so I can play for Inter. I know my value and I'm convinced I will have chances to play for this team, and not just in these coming months."

The Spanish press has spoken of your difficult character. Is it true?
"People sometimes confuse a strong and resolute character like mine with a difficult character. I want to win, and this is the only thing that counts. The past is the past now, and I'm happy to be here at Inter."

What's your opinion of the Italian championship?
"A tactical championship in which physical strength counts. It will be important to be in good physical form. There are some very strong players in Italy who are used to winning European competitions as well. There's definitely excellent quality in the Italian championship."

Mancano ancora sei mesi al termine della stagione e all’inizio del calciomercato, quello vero, non quello di riparazione! L’Inter ha già una rosa eccezionale, l’innesto di Maniche è l’ultima chicca del mosaico perfetto, ma in dirigenza starebbero cercando il colpo dell’anno, il colpo del centenario: Ronaldinho.Come si vocifera, come si legge, come si capta, il contratto decennale con la Nike sarebbe più di un semplice contratto pubblicitario legato alla sola squadra. La Nike starebbe cercando di affiancare Ibrahimovic a Ronaldinho, per una campagna pubblicitaria e ritorno d’immagine da fantascienza. Trattativa difficile, ma idea stuzzicante. Il fuoriclasse brasiliano lascerà la Spagna e le pretendenti al titolo di “regina del mercato 2008â€

Più italiani in organico per legge? L'Inter in attacco ne ha già pronto uno..

Branca sta pensando di dirottarsi su Quagliarella, usando i soldi ricavati da una possibile cessione di Adriano.

La Champions League, dall'anno prossimo, renderà obbligatorio un numero minimo di italiani in rosa? Anche l'Internazionale, nonostante il nome, si deve quindi adeguare e sta già progettando i primi rinforzi tutti azzurri per la stagione a venire.

Dopo aver sondato il Brescia per i suoi tre talenti (Viviano, Zambelli, Mannini), uno per reparto, ora i nerazzurri hanno puntato forte su Fabio Quagliarella per l'attacco. La cifra si aggirerebbe intorno ai 15 milioni di euro e Marco Branca pensa di poter ricarare parte della somma cedendo Adriano, se tornerà a buoni livelli dopo il prestito al San Paolo.

Tra l'Inter e il giocatore, peraltro, c'èera già stato un abboccamento quando il nazionale italiano era alla Sampdoria ma la vittoria dell'Udinese alle buste rovinò i piani di Moratti: le recenti prestazioni della punta, unite alla sua giovane età, hanno però fatto tornare prepotentemente alla ribalta il nome del campano.
