I was hoping the start of this season with all these purchases would try to bring this forum to life. Last season was pathetic.

Mancini 'offensive' to Fiorentina

Fiorentina team manager Vincenzo Guerini blasted “offensive” Roberto Mancini and asks Mohamed Salah “what happened?”

The winger had been due to extend his loan by another season, as per the terms of the contract signed in January, but pulled out after the €1m fee had been paid.

The Viola blame Inter for interfering and Guerini was particularly angry at Coach Mancini.

“I really didn’t like the joke he made about Salah,” the team manager told Italia 7 television.

The comment was during a Press conference, saying he hadn’t called Salah because his phone ran out of credit.

“It was unpleasant. I’d never have expected something like that from a man of his experience. His comment was offensive towards Fiorentina.”

Salah has now returned to Chelsea for pre-season training and it remains to be seen what will happen, including the threat of FIFA arbitration.

“Nobody thinks he’s going to suddenly turn up here, but I just want to know what happened. The last time I saw him, he was happy and joking around with everyone, then something must’ve changed.

“He probably received a scandalous offer. We too proposed a very high wage and could not have done more.”

Fiorentina midfielder Alberto Aquilani claims Salah told him some time ago that he wouldn’t be staying in Florence.

“He might’ve said that, but all the other teammates say the complete opposite, which is that Salah wanted to stay.”

Kovacic: ‘I want to stay with Inter’

Mateo Kovacic categorically rules out a move to English Premiershit side Liverfekkin'wankscum - ‘I want to win with Inter’.

The playmaker has been linked with a €30m move to Anfield, as the Reds have money to burn following the €71m sale of Raheem Sterling to Manchester City.

The Croatian international, however, is adamant that he’ll stay at San Siro for the long-haul.

“The club have never said they want to sell me,” Kovacic told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Never. I’ll stay here. I won’t move. That’s what I wanted, that’s what my renewal until 2019 shows, there will be a long relationship between myself and Inter.

“I want to show that I deserve Inter. I want to win with this shirt. Inter is like Real [Madrid] or Barcelona.

“Could I replace Sterling? We have two different roles. It’s not for me to say whether there have been any offers from the Reds or not, hopefully that’s down to my agent.

“That said, I’ll repeat myself - I. Want. To. Be. Here.”

The Nerazzurri have been tracking Kovacic’s international teammate, Ivan Perisic of Wolfsburg, and the 21-year-old believes he’d be a good signing.

“He’s the most talented Croatian player. He uses both his left and right foot, and if you play with him you’re lucky, because he can do anything - winger, second striker, he’s even been tried as an out-and-out striker.

“Then he’s got a hard shot, he’s fast… he’s very good. He might help us even more.”

Roberto Mancini has in the past criticised Kovacic’s consistency, warning he needs to play at his best for 30 games a season.

“If you always play then it helps you to be more consistent,” Kovacic replied.

“I have to earn my place, but it helps to play a lot. More should be expected from me, and the others, we all have the same importance.

“For me maybe that means continuity of performance, but it’s not easy to show that in the occasional games where I’m on the bench.

“[Croatia manager Niko] Kovac says I have to play, at Liverfekkin'wankscum or Inter? He’s right - and I want to do it at Inter.”

Matthaus: 'Inter shame over Shaqiri'

Lothar Matthaus accused his former club Inter of “shameful” behaviour towards Xherdan Shaqiri.

The German Nerazzurri legend spoke to Blick about the situation, which saw Shaqiri signed in January from Bayern Munich only to be put back on the market six months later.

“Mancini did not have any faith in Shaqiri and without that no player can show his true worth,” slammed Matthaus.

“If you sign a player, you have to actually play him. If the Coach doesn’t help him to settle in, the player will fail. With his quality, it’s unthinkable that Xherdan could not be first choice at Inter.

“Mancini wanted him and then didn’t use him in the matches. If I were an Inter director, I’d be asking him why that happened.

“What’s been happening at Inter over the last two years is shameful and you can see the results on the field.”

The Swiss international now looks set for a return to the Bundesliga for Schalke 04, especially as he's in the stands for today's friendly against Carpi.

“I’d been happy to see Shaqiri at Bayern Munich, but Pep Guardiola does not admire players who are tactically anarchic,” continued Matthaus.

“Schalke made errors in the past, but if this transfer went through, both clubs would win.”

It seems that Jovetic is close to signing. I think that Jovetic is technically a much better player than Salah who basis his game entirely on speed.

I am still baffled at why we want to sell Shaqiri so quickly. Are we so sure this Perisic guy is so much better than him? How come Mancini is letting go of him after he wanted him so strongly in January? Dunno really ...

The rumour I heard is that Mancini wanted Shaqiri because he fancied him and assumed from his hair that he was gay. It turns out he isn't and so Mancini's trying to offload him. It seems plausible enough, I think.

Lol @ maro .... what I heard is that like Guardiola, Mancini thinks that Shaqiri is a good player when he has the ball but is a bit too anarchical when it come to tactical discipline. I think it made sense since now he has given the go-ahead to get rid of him after just 6 months.
