Off-loading Bertolacci for 20 mil and resisting a 25 mil offer for Romagnoli seems not a bad start really.

but the bigger question is how you see dzeko playing next to totti. it makes none sense.

I'm not sure about that. I'm inclined to think that great players can play alongside each other fullstop, And, then, even if Dzeko isn't actually a great player, I think Totti has the intelligence to be able to play alongside anyone with a bit of accommodation from those around him - down the left in a 4-3-3, in a more withdrawn role coming deep to pick up the ball in some other shape (4-4-1-1, 4-2-3-1). What you need is players who help give profondita' - the other winger; Niggernoolan or Pjanic getting forward from deep. So far this summer we've replaced Astori with Romagnoli and brought in Castan and Strootman - oh, and the Spanish lad from Genoa. That's a start, no? Just got to get rid of Destro, Doombar, Gervinho, Cole, Lajic . . . . Oh, and it sounds as though we've picked up some hungry new kid called Maicon from somewhere too.

Romagnoli will be sold to finance the Dzeko and Baba deals. Then we'll pick up some Serie B level defender to as the 4th CB with Castan, Manolas, and Mapou being the other three. I'd rather we keep Destro and Romagnoli and try to upgrade the fb positions rather than go with the first route but I just can't see them turning the Romagnoli money down.

Yes, the trouble is that their model seems to be a very clear and simple one organised almost entirely around the principle of plusvalenza. In such terms the Romagnoli deal seems pretty much inevitable.

Feel much the same way. Romagnoli's sale is fait accompli as far as i'm concerned for the reasons you guys mentioned. The plusvalenza and b/c Sabatini always rates his young South Americans over Italian talent.

Even if i feel like Romagnoli's become a bit overrated.
