Is Spolli an OPTION to buy or a mandatory clause? Most reports say its mandatory which would be shit, but if its an option its not bad as he'l be ok as a back-up player.

Ibarbo is not a bad signing, he's no world beater but he's an effective player with his pace and strength, and he'll bring a spark to the forward line which is badly needed. Its also a loan with an option to buy for €12.5 m, which is great, as if he proves his worth then fine, but if he flops well then we can send him back.

Borriello also gone. Always got a hard time cos of his big contract, but thats hardly his fault, and he's always been a good pro and a player, so good luck to him. I know Lupa will miss watching him.

Thats 350 million is just from their kit manufacturer, not even their main kit sponsor. We signed a similar deal with Nike, but i dont recall if the financial details of that were ever revealed. How much did we get from Nike? 350 is a lot, obviously, but nothing compared to the deal Man Utd signed with Adidas a while back, I remember reading it was worth one billion, or €100m-a-season over 10 years.

Kit manufacturing in Italy is a different ball-game altogether as well, when you consider the amount of jersey sales, and the way most Italian fans at games don't actually wear the clubs jersey, whereas every eijit and their mother wears a football jersey in English grounds.

The deal with Nike is a step in the right direction (though personally i preferred Kappa), at least in terms of being a major player in the morketing sense, but there's still a long way to go. A main shirt sponsor would be good, for starters.

Maro is right, though. If the new owners really want to be taken seriously with all their morketing talk and grandiose plans, they need to make moves to get Roma to play in the Premiershite (like Celtic and Rangers tried to do). That way we can really tap into the US market.

i think it's safe to say that the winter mercato was a monumental fuck-up. sabatini went all in for the scudetto and made the wrong picks. at this point it's game over.

How short of ideas did the team look going forward today? Nothing wrong with the intensity and the endeavour and the tempo, but it was all about individual players trying to make things happen on their own - it hardly looked like there was a single attacking idea out there, an attacking schema.

it's a shame because with players like keita, pjanic and totti we should be playing much better football, the kind we were playing in the first months of the season. giving the ball to gervinho and hoping for the best is boring and hasn't been working lately.

agreed. yesterday it really felt as though rudi was short of ideas. it wasn't just gervinho, of course - lots of dribbling from all of the attacking players because no-one was creating space or incisive options for others.
