Ashley Cole is going to prove a hell of a lot harder to learn to like than even old John Arne. Cole, Eto'o, Emanuelson, Keita? I suppose if they help Totti and DDR win something meaningful I shall be pleased but I'm not sure I'm going to find watching the journey all that much fun.

Will you people who live in and around the UK kindly tell me what Ashley Cole brings to Roma? Depth? If so, what does he really have to offer this team.

And Dodo out the door, I see. Very interesting. Cashley in his prime was as good as any fullback in the world, gio. How far he is from his best is a different question but I suspect less far than Maicon was this time last year. I have always found him a very unlikeable player but one I've had grudgingly to admire. I'm more surprised that he wants to come to Roma than that Roma want to sign him - much as it grieves me to say such a thing.

And you Romanisti should be glad you only signed someone as dislikable as Cole.

Today, Aberdeen signed someone who is very probably a rapist.

Sure, he's never been convicted (due to the PF making an arse of things, apparently) but everything - including the alleged victim receiving compensation - points to the guy having done it.

So Cole is what I thought. A bit past it, signed for depth because of the CL. I noticed the price is rising for that pain in the ass Benatia. ManShitty apparently offered 38 million. It's amazing how all of the good will Benatia built up because of his play has been torn to shreds so quickly by his big fucking mouth. He and his agent can pump each other as far as I'm concerned..

Cashley's probably the most accomplished left-back we've seen at the club since Candela in his pomp. I still can't stand the cut of his jib.

Obviously his signing is a product of the success of Maicon. Hopefully we get lucky again and another older guy who's had low minutes the year prior can rejuvenate in the less pacey Serie A.

Not a fan of the BPL much so don't know all the personal stuff that must make him so unlikeable but he seems worth the risk.

so dodo's time with us has come to a slightly abrupt end. for 9m, i don't think anyone should blame them. even though he's improved over the last season, his injury proneness is something that would seriously worry me if he were a starter on my team. i see the cole signing as a sign of huge ambition as well. there's no way cashley takes a 110,000/week pay-cut to come here and lose. what sort of promises they've made him I don't know but this roma is not fucking around.

I don't watch the "English" league and I have only seen Cole play for England. Therefore, I do not know what he has left in the tank nor do I know why he chose to come to Roma. Is there something we/I do not know. Has he been bothered by injuries and from I'm hearing, he's a pain in the ass from an attitude standpoint. You "English" blokes have not fully explained that to me yet.

He's a horrible cnut. One of the reasons to hate rich, modern footballers and all that comes with it. I’m horrified at the sight of him in a giallorosso jersey, to be frank, and I don't think I'll ever cheer for him (you can all hold me to that ).

Surprised to see Dodo go to Inter. He certainly needed a loan spell, and I thought he may go to somewhere like Cagliari to get lots of game time. But we got very good money for him, mind, its essentially a €9m deal which is very great considering we got him for free. A nice young lad and we wish him well, but he was just never really good enough.

What do you think Sabreteeny would say were someone to offer us 9 mil for Romagnoli?

I believe I seen a report that Liverfekkin'wankscum – of all feckin clubs – wanted Romagnoli a while back, not sure if there was anything in it. Losing players like Benatia or Strootman is one thing, its business, we can deal with it, but losing players like Romagnoli or Florenzi (few enquiries apparently) would be all that much worse and distance a lot of us from what this Roma is becoming.

Not gonna lose those guys. Must have home grown players and Romagnoli and Florenzi are them.

If they're thinking long-term you need three on your CL squad and Totti won't play forever.
