Strong reports we want Gaston Ramirez from Southampton (instead of money they owe us for Osvaldo deal), but he'd have to go on loan to Bologna first due to non-EU places. I like Ramirez, good player, but going after all these attacking-midfielders doesn't give me much hope of Pjanic staying. The club may want to cash in on him, but only if we got Lamela kind of money for him. Whats everyones thoughts on this? Is Pjanic going?

(Il Tempo – A. Serafini) Se per il mercato sono giorni caldi, diventeranno bollenti i prossimi per il futuro di Pjanic. La Roma è vicinissima al rinnovo del contratto del bosniaco (la cifra necessaria è già stata calcolata nel bilancio) che firmerà un pluriennale da circa 3.2 milioni netti a stagione più bonus. Ma questo non basterà per avere la certezza che il numero 15 prolunghi la sua avventura in giallorosso, considerando che Psg, Manchester United, Real Madrid (piace molto ad Ancelotti) e Barcellona hanno già mostrato un vistoso interesse.

Sabatini è tornato proprio ieri dalla capitale della Catalogna ufficialmente per incontrare il presidente blaugrana Rosell, disposto ad allentare la presa sul talento paraguaiano Sanabria. Il discorso Pjanic, semmai, verrà dopo.
La Roma sta già studiando le alternative al bosniaco (una l’ha già presa: Parede) e ieri al ds è stato offerto l’uruguaiano Ramirez del Souphtampton che ora non sarebbe tesserabile in quanto extracomunitario.

A Milano il ds ha continuato il solito giro di colloqui tra procuratori e addetti ai lavori. La ricerca di un difensore centrale rimane una priorità soltanto nel caso in cui si realizzasse la cessione di Burdisso, disposto ad andare via da Trigoria sin da subito, ma soltanto a determinate condizioni. Rifiutata la proposta del Genoa, l’argentino ambisce ad un club di livello superiore, in grado di potergli garantire anche la partecipazione ad una competizione europea. Nessuna offerta concreta però è ancora arrivata nel quartier generale romanista, dove si sono palesati soltanto il timido sondaggio da parte dell’Olympiacos. Il trasferimento in Grecia rimane ancora al vaglio del difensore.

Per sostituire in caso il numero 29 è aperta ancora lo studio della possibile alternativa: l’olandese Heitinga (offerto di nuovo ieri dall’agente) piace poco a Sabatini, che però messo alle strette potrebbe decidere di pensare al centrale dell’Everton proprio nelle ultime ore prima della chiusura del mercato. Situazione in bilico anche Borriello, che felice di terminare la stagione alla corte di Garcia, non ha alcuna fretta di accelerare i tempi di una possibile cessione. Il West Ham è una destinazione poco gradita, meglio aspettare una proposta futura del Genoa nel caso in cui riuscisse a piazzare Gilardino al Bologna.

Dopo aver bloccato Abner per il prossimo giugno la priorità sembra quella di sistemare le operazioni minori. In via di definizione il passaggio di Caprari (non convocato per oggi) in comproprietà al Pescara. Oltre ad un piccolo conguaglio economico a Trigoria dovrebbero tornare momentaneamente Frascatore e Piscitella. Dopo l’avventura francese all’Ajaccio, Crescenzi saluta tutti e va in prestito al Novara.

Not exactly a ringing proclamation of his desire to stay at Roma, is it? What do we think? If an offer from PSG were to materialise, I'd insist on including Verratti in the deal (a straight swap even? or Verratti plus cash?).

I have very little respect for today's footballers for obvious reasons. If Pjanic wants to go then I say don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. As long as we get something substantial in return, then send him where he wants to go. These players are rich, spoiled and have a sense of self worth that is beyond any semblance of reality. A contract today means nothing and you can forget about club loyalty. I understand that there is always posturing when attempting to negotiate a new deal and maybe that is what Pjanic is doing but regardless, make the deal and send him to France if this is his wish.

I agree. We offered him €3.2m for five years but its reported he's stalling because he wants more (first offered back in December I think, still no word). I think thats plenty for him at this time. He's still only 23, and I don't think he's quite yet fully developed into the top-class footballer we all know he can be. I'm sure he can get more at other clubs, but not at Roma, yet.

It is all still speculation at this point, though, so its hard to know exactly what the story is, but the longer it drags on the worse it'll get. Plus, his current contract expires in 2015. If he doesn't sign a new deal and we don't sell him in this mercato, then we won't get premium price for him next summer.

I think the point is that Pjanic extends and then offers are assessed (Pjanic ferma, poi parte l'asta). If PSG offer what they paid for Pastore.

I think our management are perhaps thinking that Pjanic could be this summers Lamela – in the sense that he'd be the player we'd cash in on and make a very nice profit. We bought him for just above €10m and could sell for up to €30m, although his market value is probably lower at around €20m. But that would all depend on him signing a new contract now with a view to cashing in big in the summer.

I'd love to vilify Pjanic, truth is, if played for Fudbalski Klub Sloboda Tuzla (Pjanic's hometown club) i can't say i'd turn down PSG, Milan or even those Cunts at United.

I choose moments like this to appreciate the Club, Totti, De Rossi and hopefully Florenzi.

Our reality is so skewed by Totti and De Rossi (and hopefully Florenzi) that we have no idea.

Here's to many more decades of our homegrown players spoiling us.

Yeah, football is a fickle sport, we know that. What he said may not have sounded too negative, but it wasn't exactly positive, either, talking up another club and a move there. Ideally he should say nothing, but this is the way the game is, and we are likely to see him move on eventually.
