Most of what i say is really just to get under you Rubentini's skin and get some action on these boards. With comebacks like "DC-Moron" i suppose i'm wasting my time though. That said Rube's reputation has been well earned and you guys deserve all the S-talking about cheating you get. That is irrefutable.

I just want to win our Coppa match now. Winner of the match gets Rube at home.

As much I would make that offside if I was writing the rules, that isn't offside under the current interpretation of the offside law.

Nella ripresa la Juventus trova il raddoppio con Bonucci: altra bella interpretazione di un assistente (questa volta Faverani) che non si fa distrarre da Tevez e Pogba in fuorigioco passivo, valutando bene il movimento di Bonucci. Al 29’ bruttissima entrata da dietro e a forbice di De Rossi (piede ad altezza ginocchio) su Chiellini: rosso diretto inevitabile. Sulla azione successiva Castan salva sulla linea con un pugno: giusti l’espulsione e il rigore. Nel finale giallo per Barzagli (ci stava): era diffidato, salterà Cagliari.

I disagree. If you watch the clear outs and space opened up as a result then it is by the letter of the law. Llorrente runs to the near post and drags two defenders with him.

and Gazzetta can say what they like but one of his most egregious mistakes was allowing Vidal 6-8 fouls without ever showing him a yellow. None were deserved on their own.

If Bonucci is one of those 3 players, then i thank you for providing the proof.
Otherwise, being in an offside position doesn't imply it is an offside offence.

All that said, i think Conte outsmarted Garcia. Garcia wanted to prove to his team that they weren't scared of Juve and Conte knew he'd have to do it. In reality we should have forced Juve to come to us.

Hopefully we'll have two more cracks at Juve and i do feel that the more games played, the more it favors Roma. I'll continue to hope that the race gets closer although at this point, it's a long shot and really more dependent on Juve stumbling than anything Roma and/or Napoli can do.

Yes Vidal definitely should have been booked for a culmination of fouls to cut out the amount of hacking and fouling he was doing throughout. The way he appeals to the refs after he fouls someone – even when it was a clear cut foul – is pathetic as well. He's a brilliant player, probably the strongest all round midfielder in the world, but he's getting quite the reputation. His dive in the second-half to win a free-kick was shameful.

I didnt think there was anyone in an offside position at all on that second goal, but that video still does show that there is. Still, i know with these current rules for offside that even if they are in an offside position they aren't directly involved in the play, but like DCG is saying, they are dragging several defenders out of position. Although Bonucci scores himself at the back post, if he had of put it back across the goal of Llorente or someone to score then it would have been dodgy.

And the more I look at the Castan red/penalty, the more annoyed i get about it. It was a definite free out.

Everyone knows the players would have been deemed active at the other end of the pitch and the goal chalked off. Their proximity to the 'keeper is enough to make that the correct call. You'll also find that Vidal was only onside for the first goal because Llorente (or whoever it was) had shoved Benatia. Again at the other end that would (and should) have been a defensive freekick. I wasn't particularly exercised by any of it as I'd expected it. Indeed, the bigger insult to Roma would have been had the officiating been clean as it'd have shown that the Rube mafia weren't really concerned by Roma as a threat for the Scudetto. Still, it was very transparent as it all unfolded.

Fairly indifferent performance from Juve in general.

They really lacked aggression through the first half and that left them looking vulnerable at the back and tame in attack.

The defenders weren't winning the long balls that Cagliari were playing forward, so Cagliari were getting in good positions to mount attacks and put Juve under pressure.

When Juve were attacking there was a lack of energy and drive from the players that you expect to make the incisive bursts forward, so Juve's play was all pretty slow and sideways and in safe areas that weren't threatening.

Towards the end of the first half and at the start of the second, Juve properly got into the game and showed a willingness to fight to assert themselves, but you really couldn't see where a goal was coming from at the point Juve scored their second.

Juve then reacted well to that and killed Cagliari in the way you'd expecta good team to when they've just got a break and a lift, but you certainly wouldn't say Juve were terribly convincing or that they created enough that them scoring four goals really reflected how even the game was.

I do like watching Cagliari play against the good teams in the league. They and Atalanta are well enough organised that you have to work for everything when playing against them and they both have talented enough attackers to pose a threat.

Never suggested I have anything like the emotional attachment required to qualify as a fan, in my book. It's probably why I don't care enough to get angry about your rather tame efforts at goading.

Samp couldn't cope whenever Juve played at a high tempo and really imposed themselves on the game.

I thought that was a pretty reckless approach Mihajlovic took as he seemed to make no adjustment - to system or tactics - to play Juve and they were just cut open again and again. Samp's front four weren't doing enough defending and that was leaving the other Samp players with too much to do. Any sort of vaguely competent movement of the ball from Juve and they would get Lichtsteiner-Vidal or Pogba-Asamoach two on one against a Samp full back.

And let's not be fooled into thinking it was bold, attacking tactics from Samp that were causing Juve so many problems at the back. Samp offered very little by way of threat from open play - almost all their chances came from corners.

And Juve's defending of corners really was terrible. Some problems came from not attacking the ball properly, some came from shit marking. Things also weren't helped by Llorente not doing his job properly as the player at the front of the six yard box.

It amazes me how badly Juve manage to defend high balls at times when they have so many big, aggressive players in their team.
