Did Dodo get injured against Sampdoria when he tackled Bjarnasson near the end? I didn't see all the game, but Dodo went in late on Bjarnasson (I don't think it was even called for a free) which looked nasty, and Bjarnasson had to be subbed. Was that when Dodo got injured too or was it something else?

I'm afraid Dodo just isn't good enough, despite how many minutes he's getting. In Balza's absence, what other choice does RG have? He was very poor against Juventus and looked way out of his depth, even Torosidis came on to replace him. We need to buy a new left-back. I'd start Torosidis tomorrow.

Look just because Bradley outgrew Roma being one of the top 10 players in the world doesn't mean you have to hate on someones description of Roma as "one of the biggest teams"

I understand until this year everyone though of us as A.S.R. and had no idea who "Roma" were but i think you're being harsh.

Good mercato round-up. Borriello has proven himself to be a good hard working, back-up player, but he is on big money, so moving him on if possible makes sense (especially with Pjanic wanting a big pay rise). Im skeptical of this move to West Ham though. Firstly, would he really accept to go there? Secondly, if it is a loan, how much of his wages (€4m?) are they going to pay?

Reports: West Ham Agree Terms With Roma For Marco Borriello

Premiershit side West Ham United have reportedly agreed terms with Roma to sign Marco Borriello, but the striker is taking a couple of days before making his decision.

The Giallorossi were keen to move Borriello on in the last transfer window, and with Mattia Destro now back in the frame following a long-term injury Borriello has found his first team opportunities even more limited.

West Ham have struggled for goals in the Premiershit this season with Andy Carroll out injured, and Il Messaggero, Il Corriere dello Sport, Il Tempo and Sky Sport transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio all report that the two clubs came to an agreement on Borriello's transfer on Saturday after the move for Ishak Belfodil fell through.

The form of the transfer is less certain, but the Corriere dello Sport and Il Tempo both suggest that the most likely option is a six-month loan with an option to make the move permanent.

However the 31-year-old has not yet decided on the possible move to England, as it is reported that he has requested a meeting after Sunday's game against Genoa with coach Rudi Garcia to discuss his options. Fiorentina and, to a lesser extent, Inter have also been following Borriello, but while the player's preference is to remain in Italy Roma are unwilling to sell to a direct rival for a Champions League place.

Meanwhile the Giallorossi are also attempting to conclude deals with Barcelona and Sampdoria for Toni Sanabria and Leandro Paredes. Sanabria had confirmed that Roma have paid his release clause, but it is claimed by Il Messaggero that Barcelona are demanding €12m rather than €3m as Sanabria had turned professional by playing for Barcelona B. The paper states that Roma are convinced the situation will resolve itself soon in their favour as Sanabria states he has not signed a professional contract.

The situation regarding Paredes is less complex, as his 18-month loan deal from Boca Juniors has already been agreed. Roma have been sounding out other clubs who could take him on a six-month loan, with Sampdoria currently the most likely option. Boca coach Carlos Bianchi, who also briefly coached Roma in 1996/97, recently stated that "the six months that Paredes will have at Sampdoria will be very useful, they will do him good".

so, the first half is done. i didn't get a chance to watch the last several games, but overall i'm really pleased with where this team is now and even more with where it seems to be going. for now we have 44 points, which is very good - 88 would have won the league in each of the past 7 seasons - but juve is also having a tremendous season, even for their standards. i can't help but think though that it would have been a lot different without totti's injury, or torino's bs goal. those things will happen in a season though and the team's reaction was more or less OK on both counts.

IMO our top performer has been benatia. among the top 5 CB's in the world at the moment and probably one of the best deals to go through this summer. gervinho has exceeded the expectations of most; ljajic has put in some solid performances quietly - in the same quiet way that he eclipsed jovetic last season; strootman is slowly becoming the backbone of the team; maicon has done well for a 45-year-old; for someone who lacks pace so much castan has been superb; pjanic and de rossi have gone a little cold but when they are in form they are unplayable; destro has eased into the team nicely and totti is totti. grazie roma, grazie rudi.

Fino a ieri la Roma di Garcia prendeva pochi gol, ora riesce addirittura a non far tirare nello specchio della porta gli avversari. E’ accaduto ieri pomeriggio contro il Genoa quando la squadra di Gasperini non è riuscita a fare nemmeno un tiro nello specchio della porta difesa da Morgan De Sanctis.



Secondo quanto riferisce l’agenzie optasports.it , esperta in statistiche, una cosa del genere in Serie A non accadeva dall’aprile del2005 inun Chievo-Milan quando i veneti non riuscirono a tirare mai in porta. Un’altra “perla” stagionale della Roma di Garcia, vero e proprio muro invalicabile.

Sebino Nela, ex giocatore della Roma è intervenuto ai microfoni di Qlub Radio FM 89.3 per parlare del momento dei giallorossi: “Stiamo assistendo - commenta Nela - ad un bel campionato, formato da tre squadre superiori rispetto alle altre, ovvero Juventus, Roma e Napoli. Il Milan di quest’anno non è da considerare una delle grandi squadre in lotta per i primi posti. Sta provando a rimontare come nello scorso campionato, ma credo che non sarà facile. Dodò? Bisogna fidarsi di Sabatini - conclude l’ex giallorosso – anche se io ancora non sono convinto, commette diversi errori sia nella fase difensiva che in quella offensiva.
