Well, Don Fabio displayed plenty of confidence in his press conference today. I don't know, but I find the following quite a grandiose statement, even for him.
"I am convinced that in a month when I meet with the national team I'll speak English," he said.

I tell you, if you pay me 6 million pounds for a year in which I have to guide a side through four friendlies, I reckon I'd have enough time in there to squeeze in mastering 7 or 8 languages too. Seriously, though,
if it were your full-time job to master another European language I think you could make pretty bloody good progress in a month and it's not as though most of the players have quite mastered the language themselves as it is.
Avvocato, you know, you're right. I was thinking about this today. We played terribly yesterday. I was torn between laughter and tears as all of their chances went begging. And yet actually they didn't fashion that many chances - it's just that two or three of them were unbelievably good chances. Had we been given that penalty the press would be going on about how we'd won ugly and this was the sign of a mature side. We had a poor, poor game against a fired-up team who played well. It happens. We were without a number of key players, away from home - it happens and it'll happen again. It's only Inter's strepitoso form which makes too many too hard on this side. ManUre lost to Bolton over here a couple of weeks ago and Arsenal to Middlesborough last weekend: these things are supposed to happen from time to time. The boys did well without Totti for a while but they need him back badly. I love that video that Chris has as his video of the day today. It's probably my favourite Totti video because of the brilliant vision it shows. As Fonz often says it's too easy to take his genius (Totti's that is, though the big man's, too, of course) for granted just as it's too easy to underestimate how much we lose without him. He can't beat teams singlehandedly but he makes players like Taddei and Perrotta at least another 20% better simply with the brilliance of his passing and timing.
