AC Milan general spiel 2.0
good response from the team to all the bullshit that's been going on off the field. can't say we were at our swashbuckling best, but the result is good enough. it's a damn shame that catania did nearly enough to equalize AFTER going down to 10 men, their switch to a 4-3-2 ultimately was undoing as they left some enormous spaces for us to 'half'-exploit.
we've also developed such a provincial mentality to our game under allegri that it is embarrassing. we are up by 2 goals against 10 men, and we have nocerino running the ball down to the corner flag to waste time. allegri does not understand the history of milan if we can't even make a 10 man team run around for the ball a little. or at least go for the 4th goal. allegri isn't smart enough or creative enough to get the most out of these players, his time was up ages ago. this team is playing less than the sum of its parts, a classic symptom of a shit coach.
and it's interesting about the post-match 'reactions' to the alleged racial abuse balotelli recieved from spolli. everybody is saying it's a misunderstanding. if spolli ends up being guilty, i wonder how it would effect balotelli that allegri never had his back.
I've come to the conclusion that Allegri isn't actually a bad coach, he's just a provincial coach that doesn't have the big time winning mindset that we need.
Paolo Maldini "Il Sogno di ogni attaccante e' segnare il piu' bella gol della storia. L'incubo e' incontrare il miglior difensore del mondo."
Francesco Totti "Never give up Pippo,You are an example for all of us to never give up."
i think this was one of our better performances, not necessarily in terms of the football, but just the effort. looked like the team was fairly fired up for the game and probably one of the most heated games against roma for a while.
allegri still has no balls for starting montolivo in the trequartista role with so many other options. kaka' and balotelli were way too isolated in the first half and there was no semblance of ideas. even our first goal was from some incredible luck.
emanuelson and de sciglio were great when they forward although roma ran those channels ragged. their midfield had too much time to find those passes.
allegri is a faggot for teasing us with the prospect of a trident up front. says he'll start either 'matri, niang or saponara' then starts neither. i'm sick and tired of him. he ruined such a great team. the one time he requested a player it was matri, our most expensive player in the transfer window. what a fucking joke.
and balotelli needs to grow up. as genius as he can be on the ball, if he continues the bullshit drama it's not gonna cut it with the curva. he might be our most 'effective' player with the stats, but this team has always meant more than just the results. he needs to learn to represent to maglia.
he won't learn under allegri; that asshat doesn't understand the purpose of milan either.
Roma had completely bossed the game, could have scored more goals, and Milan just sneaked an equaliser from a terribly defended set piece.
Now Milan reacted well in the second half and certainly showed more drive an energy than I have seen from them in many games this season, but I thought they were very fortunate to still be in the game come the second half - on another day the game would have been over inside half an hour and it would just have been classed as yet another shit Milan performance.
i didn't mean to say this current group of players. in the past 3-4 years under his leadership, he's turned a technically gifted team into a team of functional players with average technical ability.
i will never forgive him for dumping pirlo on the street.
Allegri still wanted to use Pirlo, but not deep in front of the defence as he wanted a stronger player there.
Galliani was only offering Pirlo a one-year extension, where Juve gave him a three-year deal.
Would be unfair to pin Pirlo's departure just on Allegri, much as it is largely unfair to blame him for the deterioration of the standard of the Milan squad.
He's not the one who slashed their budget and sold/released great players and, by and large, I don't think he's chosen the mediocre players who have replaced them.
there's more to it than that. allegri was playing pirlo out of position and he no longer guaranteed him a 'starting player' status. galliani figured that there's no point to giving a bumper contract to a player who isn't even in the first XI.
you're right in the sense that it is always going to be multi-factorial. but ultimately a player has to be cajoled and comforted by the coach, pirlo got no confidence from allegri whatsoever, he was left to rot on the bench even when he was in shape.
even if pirlo was still around, allegri would have no idea wtf to do with him anyway. allegri relies too much on creative spontaneity from his forward players, he hasn't figured out how to make his midfield more than a functional component of the team.
he didn't choose the specific mediocre players, but allegri certainly had a say in the 'type' of midfielders the team has, mainly of players that are better at hustling than playing the ball. that's why birsa got so many games this season, he's got an engine even though he's the king of luck when it comes to ball handling. if you look at our midfield, montolivo is the only one who is comfortable with the ball at his feet, 1 player out of 7-8 central midfielders is a joke.
i've had enough of allegri, maybe it's my impatience and my subjectivity, but i can't see anything good from allegri's current reign.
You don't have to convince me of Allegri's limitations.
He hasn't shown any ability to get a team playing with any real clear plan for how to move the ball and how to find and exploit space.
No need to mess around with plans if you have Ibrahimovic (one could argue there wouldn't even be too much by way of a plan needed if Balotelli would get his act together), but his departure has rather exposed Allegri's limited ability to produce a decent plan of attack.
He's failing to get the best out of a largely indifferent bunch of players, but they are still going to be an indifferent squad regardless of who is coaching them.
Toro want El Shaarawy, Milan on Nainggolan By Football Italia staff
Torino confirm a January loan for Stephan El Shaarawy “depends on Milan,” while the Rossoneri close on Radja Nainggolan.
El Shaarawy has barely featured this season due to injuries and competition for places, so has been linked with a loan move for the final six months.
“We will be alert on the transfer market and try to do something that can help us improve,” confessed Torino director of sport Gianluca Petrachi in Tuttosport.
“El Shaarawy? First of all the financial burden is above the average of players in our squad, but if a sacrifice can be made that is worth it, then of course we will consider it.
“He is a top level player in a great team, so we have to be cautious about this. However, if Milan had the idea of loaning him out so he could play more regularly and rediscover his form, then we’d be interested in collaborating with them. It all depends on Milan.”
El Shaarawy could well join Torino on loan in exchange for Danilo D’Ambrosio, who is frozen out after refusing to sign a contract extension.
Meanwhile, La Gazzetta dello Sport claims Milan are also close to capturing Cagliari midfielder Nainggolan.
The Belgian international has long been linked with a move away from Sardinia, primarily with Inter, Roma, Juventus and Southampton interested.
According to the latest reports, the Rossoneri have gained the upper hand by offering €8m plus half of Bryan Cristante in exchange for co-ownership of Nainggolan. ---------------
I really like naingollan, but he's not what we need right now....
Save the money and go for jorginho or something. Then again he looks too smart to play for Allegri.
agreed. personally i'd give him a lifetime contract with bonuses for each time he starts a darkie or yells 'dai dai dai'. i heard it really motivates the boys.
hallelujah, allegri says that it's his last season at milan.
seedorf is the best pick for our next manager, with stam being his assistant. that will be interesting.
it will also be interesting who we'll get between naingollan vs. jorginho. naingollan is an allegrian midfielder, while jorginho seems to be more seedorfian. i hope we get jorginho.
Just watched Honda's first interview as a Milanista. i wonder why they got him to speak English rather than get him a Japanese translator to interview him, he sounded nervous to the extent that he stuck to the safe answers rather than speaking how he would like to have.
Paolo Maldini "Il Sogno di ogni attaccante e' segnare il piu' bella gol della storia. L'incubo e' incontrare il miglior difensore del mondo."
Francesco Totti "Never give up Pippo,You are an example for all of us to never give up."
i wasn't able to watch the game live, but after watching the game on tape i realized that the scoreline was incredibly flattering.
one interesting stat i heard through the game was that milan has dropped a 1 goal lead 9 times this season, the most in the league. and it has to do with the gutless tactics allegri employs.
we get a lead against atalanta, at HOME, and allegri switches to a 4-4-1-1 with kaka' on the right and nocerino on the left. atalanta have 3 damn good opportunities to equalize but their shooting lets them down and they kick the ball right at abbiati. not to mention all the scrambles in the 6 yard box that atalanta created.
until we hit the second and third goals, it looked like atalanta was going to win the game. i can't wait to see allegri's back, he's a fucking idiot.
of note, balotelli was great, he had a 30 minute cameo but he was pulling defenders all over the place, holding the ball well, dribbling the ball and taking defenders on. with no bitching or scheming involved. that's all we need from him, nothing more, nothing less. he'll get a goal every game if he plays like that without trying to get fouls.
also, matri is complete shit. after 15 games and 1 goal, it's time to leave him at milanello otherwise we'll keep dropping his price. sell him to fiorentina or lazio for whatever we can get. allegri only persists with him because we all know that matri was allegri's personal pick and both of them are loooking like shit. i still can't believe he was our most expensive player.
and cristante did well, he needs to be more composed on the ball, and i don't feel comfortable with him as a regista because he doesn't really inspire confidence when he's on the ball. he needs more confidence, which comes from experience. he still is better on the ball than all the other midfielders besides montolivo and de jong. a goal was great though, and he got into some good forward positions. lets see where he ends up.
