MILAN - Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the special guest in the fourteenth episode of Sky Italia's 'Inter 100 e lode', the series dedicated to Inter's centenary season. Here's what the Swedish forward had to say:

Ibra, which adjectives would you use to describe your exceptional form?
"I'm doing very well, but the whole team is also doing very well. We have to continue on this path. We are very confident but the championship is still long and we have to stay focused."

Do you feel you are in top form, or can you improve more?
"I feel in great form but I can do better because I still want to improve a lot. I am working towards this, and to improve more you have to work every day, play a lot, and learn from your team-mates, both on and off the pitch."

Despite your past at Juventus, you have become the idol of the Inter fans.
"I think I did well in my first year in Italy, and I won the Scudetto. In my second year I did well until Christmas, but I don't know how to explain what happened after, when I didn't play like I can. The following year I joined Inter and started playing well immediately and improved. I train well every day and I feel good during matches. I have improved but this wouldn't be possible without my team-mates. They help me every day in training and in matches, both on and off the pitch."

Is this a magic year for you?
"I'm doing better year after year. I have always done a bit better in every new championship. This year is the best of my career."

Does Roberto Mancini also deserve some of the credit?
"I have a good relationship with him. We talk when we need to. I'm a player and he's the coach. I have a normal relationship with him, and nothing more than that."

You have been compared to Marco Van Basten. What do you think about this?
"We can't make these comparisons. Each player has his own qualities and his own style. And I don't think anyone can be compared to Van Basten."

Maicon has made many assists for your goals. What is your relationship with him like?
"I think Maicon is the strongest full-back in Italy and one of the strongest in Europe. He joined Inter and did very well in his first year. He's doing even better this year and he's improving even more. He also plays for the Brazilian national team, and if you play for them it doesn't just mean you're good, it means you're very good. I get on well with him and we understand each other perfectly. He attacks a lot and he's very important for our game."

Your understanding in attack with Julio Cruz is perfect. Do you agree?
"I have played with Cruz a lot this year, and last year I played a lot with Crespo. Hernan scored a lot last year like Cruz has done in the first part of this season. This is my second season with the Nerazzurri and with these team-mates. The more time that passes, the better we get to know one another, both on and off the pitch. So everything is automatic. I get on well with Cruz on and off the pitch, but the same goes for all the others. And in Eindhoven we saw how good Suazo was. I thought he was the best on the pitch. He's improving too. He just has to learn our tactics and our game. If he does this he can become one of the most important players in our team."

Did you support Inter when you were a young boy?
"Yes. There were three or four of us, all friends, and we all supported a team from one of the most important European countries. My team in Italy was Inter, and the others supported Milan and Juventus. In England I liked Arsenal, while my friends preferred Manchester United and Liverfekkin'wankscum. When you're a kid you like lots of teams, and Inter was one of these."

You are disqualified for the Cagliari trip, so we will see you back on the pitch in the derby...
"Every match is important, but the derby is even more important because there are so many emotions. We play in the same city, and the stadium will be full. It's an exciting and important match. This is my second year at Inter and my third derby. It's really nice to play in the derbies."

You have already scored two derby goals.
"But there's always the next match. The old ones are in the past."

Ronaldo won't play in this derby...
"I liked Ronaldo a lot because he was the most complete player of all. He hasn't been lucky lately because he has had a few injuries. But he'll be back when he's fit."

Will it be a clash between you and Kaka?
"It's Inter against Milan. Eleven against eleven, not one against one."

Is there anything you envy about Kaka?
"No. I think he's a fantastic player. He deserved to win the Ballon d'Or and I'm happy for him."

Will you win it next year?
"No. This isn't something I'm thinking about. I want to win every trophy with Inter. The individual awards come by themselves."

We're being linked with Maresca in january now. I WANT ITALIAN PLAYERS. I think the rules will soon change (even yesterday,Blatter gave a press conference about new rules that will be implied very soon), and we need to be ready for that. We must really start to focus on this.

Enzo Maresca in nerazzurro già a gennaio, l'Inter è molto interessata e il centrocampista del Siviglia sarebbe felicissimo di rientrare in Italia. Colpa di un opzione. Ecco perché Carvalho non si libera a parametro zero. Una clausola sul contratto che si pensava potesse utilizzare solo il giocatore. Invece – a sorpresa – l’ha utilizzata il Cska. Carvalho, aveva firmato per quattro anni che sarebbero scaduti il primo gennaio. Ora sono cinque e così per portarlo in Italia bisognerà mettere mano al portafoglio. Ma se l’Inter rallenta per il brasiliano, accelera – eccome – per Maresca. La sua rottura con il Siviglia è ormai ufficiale, e il prezzo del suo cartellino è crollato: invece degli 8 milioni che servivano quest’estate ora ne bastano 4. Non è crollata affatto la stima di Mancini per il giocatore – nonostante a causa della presenza mercoledì sera non possa giocare in Champions – e così l’Inter ora sta cercando di stringere i tempi, facendo leva sulla ferma volontà di Maresca di tornare. Poi per il prossimo anno – quando in Europa bisognerà avere almeno otto giocatori formati in Italia – si continuano a seguire Dessena, Cigarini e Viviano.

I think the rule is already in place......From 2008 atleast 8 players who must have trained in italy or something.....Four youth teams products and 4 italians....I am not sure of the rule but such a rule is in place from 2008..........

8 of 25 players have to be Italian right? So that means we can have the Argies with the Italian passports as well as Primavera players who are Italian but they don't actually have to play, just be on that list?

Oh right, I understand now. Shouldn't be that hard to get it together.

I don't know if you saw this on Inter.it Lomba but they're saying Stankovic might need an operation on his heel. If this happens, it will cast further doubt on his availability after the new year. So we are looking at a season ending injury for Dacourt and indefinite periods out for Stankovic and Vieira. I don't know if we should panic just yet but I would be quite worried if after the break, the latter 2 cannot be fielded. Especially since we need to make a decision on how many midfielders we need to buy in January and if we get this wrong, our campaign might crumble underneath us.

Today on goal.com they had a rumor regarding Maresca; any substance to this or does this just get thrown onto the list of Menez, Diarra, VDV etc...
