Totti e De Rossi, cresciuti e diventati famosi solo con una maglia, non sono la regola, ma l’eccezione. Il caso di Alessandro Florenzi, prima in prestito in B e poi tornato alla base, è forse quello più comune: capitò anche a Bruno Conti e Agostino Di Bartolomei.

C’è pure chi, come Alessio Cerci, è sbocciato definitivamente a Torino dopo un lungo girovagare. Il vivaio romanista ne ha visti di tutti i tipi: campioni del mondo, ottimi elementi per la Serie A, ma anche buoni “mestieranti” per la provincia. Attualmente, si contano 47 professionisti tra A e B cresciuti o passati per i campi e le stanze del “Bernardini”. Tra i fiori all’occhiello dei prodotti “made in Trigoria”, merita una menzione Alberto Aquilani: punto di forza del centrocampo della Fiorentina di Montella e uomo imprescindibile per la Nazionale di Prandelli.

Discorso simile per Simone Pepe, anche se non è più tra i titolari di Conte, ha vinto titoli e ha preso parte alla spedizione mondiale del 2010. Marco Amelia, portiere del Milan, era nella rosa dell’Italia mondiale nel 2006. Un emergente è il difensore Luca Antei, titolare del Sassuolo e dell’Under 21.

In B il Pescara ha molti elementi di marca AS Roma: Paolo Frascatore, Federico Viviani, Matteo Politano e Giammario Piscitella, tutti e 4 in Abruzzo a titolo temporaneo. In rosa risulta anche il portiere Mirko Pigliacelli, campione d’Italia con la Primavera nel 2011, ma ora di proprietà del Parma. In Lega Pro, L’Aquila sta facendo crescere Amato Ciciretti, Alexis Ferrante e Marco Frediani. Il FeralpiSalò ha tesserato a titolo definitivo l’ex capitano della Primavera Fabrizio Carboni e il mediano tuttofare Andrea Cittadino, mentre in comproprietà è andato il difensore Mattia Rosato. AS Roma is publishing the following statement of AS Roma President James Pallotta following the recent media reports regarding potential new investors in NEEP Roma Holding SpA:
“Contrary to recent reports, there have not been ongoing negotiations between us and any potential Chinese investors. We are continually dismayed at Unicredit’s foolish and embarrassing promotion of false information in the media – this is shameful and it hurts our team and our fans. Anybody involved in this kind of activity must be held accountable for any harm caused to our club on and off the field and should apologize to our fans. Forza Roma!”

Why would Unicredit release false information about investors? In what way is it "foolish and embarrassing"? I don't get it. Are they that desperate to sell? I don't think they made it up, the investors in general didnt deny it, and I think Unicredit are obliged to release a statement about. Should they be more discreet or what? Are Pallotta and co against it, or why are they upset over it? Strange.

It feels like every time we play Cagliari nowadays it's a disappointment. Let's hope for another stadium fiasco for the return fixture later in the season so we can take the 3 points by default again.

Ah man, just watched the match there now on record, another very disappointing game. Regardless of the amazing start to the season, drawing at home to both Sassuolo and Cagliari just isn’t acceptable for a side with the ambitions that have been mentioned around this side as of late (not that I myself was ever mentioning such ambitions). Its certainly a bump back down to earth. On the flip side, with 13 games gone and second place with no goals conceded, thats not to bad either. But tonight just wasn't good enough, although Cagliari done very well.

Also, when Benatia was injured, and the sub was coming (for which Garcia/the club will no doubt be fined) why bring on Burdisso, why not throw on another forward player, either Destro, or if he’s not fit enough and was never going to be considered to come on, then Marquinho. DDR could have easily dropped back to cover centre-back and it would give us another attacking option for the last few minutes.

Didn't think Roma did too much wrong in the first seventy minutes or so in that game - they just failed to take one of the chances they created.

I'd be worried about how Roma seemed to be struggling physically in the last twenty minutes. In a period where you'd have been expecting incessant Roma pressure, they really didn't seem to have the energy to control the game and force Cagliari back. Did Roma players have a particularly taxing international break?

I'd guess it was the dangers created by that lack of energy that put Garcia off taking the risk of bringing on an attacker rather than Burdisso. He wasn't confident Roma had enough control to make such a move.
