Here's my issue Maro, what is the reason behind selling Lamela. It's important we know. If it's financial strain they should tell us. Not because we "deserve" it but because it's a reason. It's not as if 30-35m is over the moon for him. Particularly to a club that just got 109 mill for a guy who's better but not 4 times better. (I know it's faulty logic but there's some truth in it)

Look, guys, I respect the fact that you've got a different opinion but there's no way I can see this in a favourable light. It just smacks of a "them and us" mentality. I know everyone might not feel the same way, but I'd feel incredibly insulted by it if I'd been there.

They're also using him here to sell season tickets, which surely everyone must think is dumb, especially after what happened with Zlatan, Silva and Milan. He was in a video ad just last week with Garcia, De Sanctis, Florenzi and Totti. Why would you select a player you're negotiating about for that video when you're only using a handful? Why not use Destro, or Bradley, or god forbid, DDR?

I agree with what DC said above about the reason behind his sale. And though I now feel like a parrot, that's what I've been saying. There's a communication break down that would be so easy to fix it defies logic as to why it hasn't been.

I don't want the forum to be just over-run with this topic. I think we all have own own nuanced opinions on the ownership and I can't see those changing. Erik Lamela is ready to say good bye to Italy. The Argentine striker is very close to joining Tottenham. The deal is about to be closed, between Monday and Tuesday it should be completed. Today there was a contact between the two clubs, they resolved the issue tied to the bonuses. Roma will receive 30 million euro plus 5 in bonuses, three of which are tied to the number of games played during the 5 year contract, the other 2 tied to Champions League qualifications during the same time frame. The player will receive 2.4 million per season, with the salaries going up over life of contract. The Premiershit is close.

Honest question here. if Totti and Pjanic are integral to this side, and presumably both will start whenever possible, how likely is that Lamela will find space in this team? To me, I don't think Rudi would have played all three in the same lineup.
