Have I ever claimed that Ozzie has particularly big balls? I don't think they'd need to be all that big to be too much for Wenger as his track-record of signing only yes-boy dickless-wonders for the past 7 or 8 years would suggest. And then I'd say Ozzie's are bigger than Destro's or Nani's or Vooch's. Or Goering's, say. Not high praise. I'm pretty sure he'd cry if he ever had to stand next to me at a urinal. I think he has a bit of personality to him, if not much personalita', were push to come to shove.

Hey guys,

So it turns out I'll be heading to Italy & France very likely between Sept 12-30th - which means I'll be just in time for the derby. I'll be traveling with my parents for a vacation, and I'm not very familiar with France so suggestions would be very welcome!

More importanly though, does anybody know how quickly/ likely it will be for me to get Derby tickets? I know some of the newer guys here are actually living in Rome etc.. so any info would be great. I'm a little concerned as if we spend the first half of the trip In France.. and only look to get to Rome around the 19th/20th, that I may not be able to get some tickets... any thoughts gentlemen?

That depends on what you want to see and what kind of holiday you want, dibbus. Provence is lovely - the Luberon, to the east of Avignon, is very lovely with lots of little towns to tootle into if you wanted to base yourselves in a nice gite (take some Petrarca to read at Fontaine de Vaucluse), while to the west there are the wonderful Roman sites in Nimes, Arles, the Pont du Gard, and further north at Orange and Vaison-la-Romaine. Or you could go to the Loire - Tour/Orleans/Azay-le-Rideau/Blois sort of area and see the chateaux there and nod knowingly as others drink chinon and chenin, saumur and sauvignon. The Ardeche has some spectacular scenery; you could go to Toulouse and learn how to make proper cassoulet and there are again lots of lovely towns close by - Albi, with its cathedral and its Toulouse-Lautrec, Cordes-sur-Ciel, Carcassonne (though this is a bit full of British tourists these days). Walking in the Pyrenees is spectacular. The Dourdogne sounds wonderful - we're yet to get there, so you'd have to report back with all sorts of advice; the bay of Morbihan just south of Vannes has been recommended to me (by a canny Grenouille) as the best bit of French coastline and wonderfully below the British radar. Or just go straight to Italy? That's what gio would recommend.

Heard that Lamela's father and Saba are in London right now negotiating his sale.

Can't help but think had we had "Roma" on our crest earlier rather than the confusing "ASR" we'd have been able to keep Lamela, Marquinhos and more than likely landed Messi.

and while I can't help but think that these moves may have a deleterious effect on our ability to compete for trophies, you have to look at the bright side, at least Pallotta is getting richer.
