my guess is that their price jumped up after the u21 euro championship and inter decided to cash out. but it is a really frugal deal on their part, they could've at least tried them out in the first team a little.

it would make the most sense if inter had a buy-back option, but nothing's been reported of that nature.

To be honest I don't believe that Caldirola or Donati will be Inter material. They might be good to be first team starters in a mid-high team like Pasquale does for Udinese, but I doubt they will be good enough to be starters for one of the top teams. The real players to watch out for are Bardi, Bianchetti, Duncan and Mbaye. In fact Inter have refused to insert them in any deal. I was also a big fan of Crisetig but he seems to goone off the radar lately ... anyone has any news on him? There was also big talk on Tassi. We haven't heard much about him too lately.

Yes unfortunately injuries at a young age can slow down a players career in a dramatic way. I remember when Inter first won the primavera championship in the recent years, the captain and most promising player at par with Martins and Pandev was Nicola Beati. He had a very bad injury while playing with Italy's U21 team and never recovered fully. He has played in Serie B mostly after his recovery. He is now 30 years old.
