What is concerning me is that there is a lot of talk regarding Ranocchia and Juve wanting to purchase him. I don't want another Cannavaro incident here. I think given time, Ranocchia could be our next captain. Bold claim, I know.

I agree with Messina on Rannochia ... in the fist 12-13 games of the season, when the team was performing, Ranocchia was a rock at the back. His only problem is that he needs someone by his side that is reliable .... like Samuel. JJ is still not on those levels.

Ranocchia can't pick a pass even if his life depended on it. So, this all boils down to we needing a defender with pace, good feet and leadership qualities.

Do Campangaro and Andreolli check any of these boxes?

I would agree that our scudetto would be a third place, but ... Juve apart, I don't see any really strong teams in the Serie A ... add to that the fact that all the top clubs will have new coaches, hence time to settle is needed. I still don't believe in the scudo, but I wouldn't place my balls under the knife either

The lads have to go in expecting to fight for first and not third. If we go in hoping for third we will finish in a EL spot!
I know realistically a third place will be a decent finish in itself but really our main challengers would be Juve. Napoli signed Benitez for godsake! They will have a horror of a season (not to mention the departure of Cavani) and Milan don't know what they are doing with Allegri.
I think since January (give or take a month) Moratti knew he was going to sign Mazzarri and we already have specific transfer targets just for Mazzarri. We will see who comes in this transfer window.
Look at it this way, next season surely cant be any worse than this season...

Looks like Moratti is getting serious about getting someone to invest in Inter. Supposedly there was a meeting between him and the Indonesian guy, Erick Thohir. Another meeting is setup for June 3.

If we get him to invest, will it affect the funds we have to shell out in the transfer market?

I think if we get funds, they will go to clear debts and for the new stadium. I talk to a lot of Inter supporters who blame lack of investment on this year's poor results ... I remind all these that Borussia Dortmund have probably spent less than Inter. I am more keen on a serious project than money to buy superstars. If we have a good project, we will build our own superstars ... then once we do this we can spend some money to make the team more complete and be back as one of Europe's top teams .... but we're still far away from this ... and we're still to see if the management have got things clear in their heads.
