I don't want to antagonise Gio or encourage Edzo's fixation (Freud described it as a condition in which a person showed anachronistic sexual characteristics ... no comment), but AA has one more point from his last 10 games than ZZ had in his last 10. You don't like ZZ? Fine. But we need to drop the bullshit about AA being somehow any better. Just because he's pals with Spalletti doesn't make him some sort of technical genius. He's come in at a difficult time, took an unenviable job and tried his best. Fair play to him. But the only thing he's improved is relations with the media and with other clubs.

I agree that racism is ingrained in the sport, Maro, and that the lack of black managers etc is a serious issue. But so is allowing ignorant, violent thugs to do what they like in stadiums. It puts decent folk off going to games and makes the league look awful in the media. And black and dumb are not the same thing. The very nature of being an idiot means that your shortcomings are quantifiable. It might not be nice, but at least it's an insult based on reason. Being black isn't a shortcoming, so using the word in a pejorative way is indefensible. I wonder how those ignorant fucks would take to being called a greasy italian cunt or a guido cunt by a foreigner or a terrone cunt by someone in the Milan stands. I'd imagine not very well.

In the end it's a horribly unbalanced side. You can often get the youth/Vet; runners/passers; Attack/Defense balance right. You just can't do it all at the same time.

For that I blame Baldini and the smoking man. I've been the biggest Baldini apologist there is, but if we're to have racist incidence, petulant players and locker room bust-ups then we might as well bring in Moggi. At least he won.

Neither Bradley nor Marquinho is in the starting 11, both of whom would be in that 3, I should think. Bradley could do a job in any one of the midfield three and Marquinho for Balzaretti would be perfectly fine; that wouldn't particularly weaken the team but it also wouldn't strengthen it to my mind. Note that my formation has Totti up top and Osvaldo down the left; that we haven't seen, right?
