Coming to an agreement with Jovetic over the terms of a possible contract isn't the hard part. Convincing Fiorentina to sell to their arch-enemy will be difficult, especially with foreign team with deep pockets. Plus I'm not sure we need another support striker.

Conte-Juventus: The agreement

The Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed details of what was agreed between Juventus and boss Antonio Conte after they decided to continue their relationship.

Conte held a three-hour meeting with President Andrea Agnelli, director general Beppe Marotta, sporting director Fabio Paratici and official Pavel Nedved last night.

At the end of the conversation, the Italian champions and the Coach confirmed that they shared a vision for the future.

Conte, the Gazzetta claims, has asked the Bianconeri for two international strikers this summer, one with fox in the box qualities.

The tactician also made it clear that he did not want Arturo Vidal or Paul Pogba sold at any cost before the start of next term.

Worried about a lack of hunger in the squad after two consecutive Scudetto victories, the former midfielder has requested seven or eight new signings.

With regard to transfers, Conte asked for more input in terms of identifying targets and on which players can be sold.

Juventus agreed in principle to all of those requests, although his new market powers would have to be shared with Marotta and Paratici.

It was also agreed that Conte would sign a new contract until 2016 worth €5m a campaign.

However, Conte did have his bid to add Giampiero Ventrone to his staff declined. The latter is a fitness trainer who was part of Marcello Lippi’s set-up in Turin. He also worked as an assistant to Conte during his time as Coach in Bari.

Conte arrived at Juventus in the summer of 2011 after the club finished seventh in Serie A for two consecutive campaigns.

Moggi questions Juve attacking moves

Luciano Moggi isn’t impressed by the idea of a Juventus side containing Fernando Llorente and Gonzalo Higuain.

The former Old Lady transfer guru, who was banned from the game for his part in the Calciopoli scandal, thinks they need a different kind of player in attack.

“Borussia Dortmund’s Robert Lewandowski is a player who makes the difference for club and country,” Moggi told Tutto Nocerina.

“The club need to sign important players, but Higuain and Llorente are discreet and nothing more.

“The likes of Alessandro Matri and Fabio Quagliarella are not worth any less, the thing is that foreign players are desired by journalists and fans – but that guarantees nothing.”

Juve have already agreed a deal with Llorente who will join the club on a free transfer once his Athletic Bilbao contract expires next month.

Meanwhile, Turin officials flew to Madrid this week to discuss a possible transfer for Real and Argentina striker Higuain.

Lewandowski, meanwhile, is being strongly linked with a summer move to Bayern Munich after catching the eye for Borussia this term.

The Polish international, who Roma were advised to sign while he was still at Lech Poznan, scored four in the recent Champions League semi-final win over Real Madrid.

Yeah, I saw a link to that earlier. Moggi backed his signing a week or two ago as well, which gives me a bit more assurance. But how does he fit into Conte's alleged switch in formation? I know he's played as the wide man up top in a 4-3-3 for Argentina, but I don't think I've seen him as a winger in a 4-2-3-1 (i.e. Robben or Ribery). He's clearly a quality player, even though he's a bit of a head case. I'm just not sure how he fits with our squad/formations changes going forward.

I still think 3-5-2 will be the primary formation, so I'm viewing Tevez as someone who'd be a natural partner for Llorente.

He works hard enough to play wide, but it'd be a waste to stick him out there.

So you think we're going to stick with 3-5-2 in CL as well?

I think Conte wants the flexibility to change depending on the opponent, but I still expect 3-5-2 to be the default.

I do think Juve need to get back into the habit of playing with four at the back more regularly to do well in the CL, though.

I think I would have kept Isla for another year to see how he was when he'd had a proper pre-season.

Don't really have a major issue with Juve taking the safe route and ditching him before his value potentially drops further, though.
