about a year ago i read a number of sources saying he would love to play at roma one day. he certainly wouldn't come only because of love for roma. love for the shirt, pretty much a guarantee of being a starter at a top 3 challenger, the chance to play and develop with some of the world's finest young talent and hopefully solid coach combined with a few american bucks and we're talking.

i should be very surprised if eriksen goes anywhere for more than €15m. i think he is more pjanic than hazard. hazard's market value at lille was about 2 or 3 times that of eriksen's, so the financial issues are the least of the worries. have you looked at pjanic's deal? he's just above €2m per annum as of now, and will be up to €4.8m in 2015. by no means does the management want to dish out many such contracts, but Eriksen's wants and our needs could be met around the €3m mark for now.

i don't see us being seriously linked with him, but i really hope saba is working on it. this would be my favorite transfer since the arrival of cassano.

Quite true. It could happen, who knows, especially if his contract with Ajax is up next summer and he won't extent. I'd prefer him to Ilicic anyway.

Non avrà i piedi dolci di un Lamela, il talento raffinato di Pjanic, ma in questa stagione Alessandro Florenzi ha conquistato pieni consensi e apprezzamenti. Un ragazzo di soli 22 anni alla prima stagione in Serie A, che alla Roma (quella dei grandi) sembra starci da una vita. Merito di un comportamento sempre impeccabile e di un’evidente propensione al sacrificio.

Poche parole e tanto lavoro. Questo il motto dell’ex capitano della Primavera campione d’Italia nel 2011, reduce da Crotone, dalla B, da una realtà completamente diversa rispetto alla massima categoria, eppure subito in grado di essere protagonista. Basti pensare che alla sua prima gara da titolare in Serie A, lo scorso 2 settembre, riuscì immediatamente a trovare il gol. Dopo soli 15 minuti. E non in uno stadio qualsiasi, bensì a San Siro, contro l’allora quotatissima Inter di Stramaccioni. Perfetto inserimento in area e colpo di testa preciso sul secondo palo (su assist delizioso di Totti) a beffare Castellazzi. Da allora, Florenzi non si è più fermato. In tutti i sensi. Corsa, polmoni ed una continua evoluzione tattica che ha portato i due allenatori stagionali (Zeman e Andreazzoli) a sperimentarlo un po’ in tutti i ruoli.

Con il boemo, la collocazione di Florenzi è stata quasi sempre da intermedio sinistro nel centrocampo a tre. Molto spesso al fianco di Bradley e Tachtsidis, quasi mai in compagnia di Pjanic e De Rossi. Solo due volte, Zeman ha utilizzato il ragazzo in altre zone del campo. A Napoli, il 6 gennaio, nel match perso per 4-1, Florenzi sostituì Piris negli ultimi dieci minuti, giocando da terzino destro. Mentre a Firenze, il 16 gennaio in Coppa Italia, egli si ritrovò nel tridente offensivo nell’inedito 3-4-3 (o 3-4-2-1) zemaniano, a supporto di Pjanic e Destro. Con Andreazzoli, il feeling non è stato immediato. Qualche panchina all’inizio, ed il sospetto forte, da parte di molti, che fosse destinato all’epurazione in quanto “uomo del boemo”.

Nel giro di poche giornate, Ale è tornato titolare. Difficile rinunciare alla sua corsa e al suo dinamismo, in un complesso di squadra lento e statico. Nell’iniziale 3-4-2-1 scelto dal nuovo allenatore, il numero 48 si è dovuto adattare, agendo da incursore al fianco di un omologo (molto spesso Perrotta), dietro una punta. Con il ritorno alla difesa a quattro, Florenzi è tornato di fatto ad agire da intermedio. E in occasione dell’ultima gara di campionato, stravinta per 4-0 contro il Siena, ha per la prima volta giocato da esterno sinistro alto nel 4-2-3-1, terzo modulo scelto da Andreazzoli negli ultimi tre mesi. Seppur diverso da Mancini e Vucinic (sul piano tecnico soprattutto), il ragazzo si è reso molto utile. “Suo” di fatto il terzo gol, con palla strappata dai piedi di Angelo e fornita ad Osvaldo per la doppietta. Scroscianti e meritati applausi per l’eclettico faticatore giallorosso. Uno di quelli che i tifosi non contesteranno mai. Per impegno, mentalità e abnegazione.

I'm not sure I'd say I 'like' Osvaldo; I just happen to take issue with a lot of the things that have been said about him. And were someone I rate and respect in turn to rate and respect someone I thought was a clown it'd give me cause to reflect.

I just question the point of making the announcement. Is it to point a finger at Marquinhos? Invite suitors? As surely there are better ways to nip a rumor in the bud without public pronouncements.

Ha, that is mad. I don't know which statement is weirder. The one saying absolutely nothing informative about the Coppa, when there are thousands of people wanting to here something official from the club on getting Coppa tickets, or that Marquinhos one.

Like DCG said, whats the point of making an official statement saying there is no contract renewal underway? Why comment on it at all? The only thing i can thing off is that its to deny the talk of his agent looking to get better deal for him, which makes him sound unhappy etc etc, but agents talk shit all the time, so i'm not sure.

Also, lads, why the anger at Marquinhos himself?

I'd say those ticket's will be like hen's teeth. 35,000 each way more or less, and there's something like 25,000 season ticket holders. I wanted to bring the missus to it, but looks like she might miss out. That'll teach her for not gettin a season ticket too.

Yeah tickets very hard to get, no doubt. Makes a change i suppose, huh! Yet more complaints over the tickets again, this time over the , lots of people giving out. Price hikes are to be expected i suppose, but in some cases tickets cost double what they would for a league game. Will actually be almost impossible for regular, i.e. non season ticket or loyalty card holders, people to get tickets.

Another story linking us to Allegri, saying he's already agreed a three year deal with us. Hope this isnt fecking true.
