So, "No al razzismo, ma si al salto.", is just the fans way of expressing that their hatred for has nothing to do with the color of his skin.

Lomba was telling me something similar in the Inter thread a few weeks back when the Inter fans were punished for racist abuse (forget which time), saying its not necessarily racist, just more general abuse toward the person. He even went as far as to tell me the big banana's the Inter fans were waving at the black players was not racial related. Go figure.

Yeah, I remember reading his post. If I'm not mistaken, the inflatable banana has been in stadiums in the past and never considered as "racist". Although I can definitely imagine some idiots would use it in that manner.

Lomba was saying that the banana is supposed to represent a phallus. I don't know too much about the history or culture of the phallus waiving interisti, but I'll go see if I can find his post. Maybe it can shed some light on the issue.

Meh.

Fairly controlled performance, but it was hard to see where the goal was going to come for most of the game.

Was a very cautious display, in which Juve looked far more concerned about not losing than they did about winning. I certainly can't recall many occassions when Juve committed many men ahead of the ball in the search for a goal.

Although they went about it in a different way, I thought the general mentality seemed much the same as it was against Milan.

I've no issue with just keeping things tight and hoping for a chance to come, rather than really forcing things, but I'd only play in that way if I have a brilliant creative players and/or a reliable finisher. With Juve having neither of those things, they really need to be more pro-active in their efforts to creat chances, as they cannot be confident of winning consistently playing the way they have in the last couple of games.

Still, Juve did look solid and in control throughout - I can only recall the one dangerous ball across the face after a counter attack from Torino - whereas Juve did still create two clear chances in addition to the two goals scored, so I don't think you could really argue that Juve didn't deserve to win the game.

Thought the ref was very kind to Juve throughout.

Not a particularly good performance.

Juve started off at a cracking tempo and put Palermo under pressure, but lost there way once they didn't get an early goal.

Was a game where it was probably a mistake for Conte not to field a genuine CF, because Juve put in quite a few decent crosses, but there was never any real threat of someone scoring from them. You could see Marchisio - probably due to the new role - kept getting himself in too close to the goal when the cross was coming in, so it wasn't possible to pick him out. He has to do more than just charging forward like he does when he's starting deeper.

Liked how Chiellini and Barzagli got really narrow at times (Chiellini spent much of the first half playing more like a DM than a CB) in order to mark Miccoli and Ilicic to stop them from getting comfortable possession and to allow Juve to win the ball back quickly and keep the tempo high.

Was hard to see where the goal was coming from, but it was very nice of that tim cunt Donati to make the remarkably stupid mistake that settled the game.

Thought Palermo played very well. They did a good job of clogging up the centre of the pitch - choosing to send Juve wide and then dealing well with the crosses that came in. They could easily have nicked a goal or two if they'd had a little more luck, too.

Anyway, congratulations, folks.

Very impressive stuff from Juve to play so consistently this season when there was more pressure, not quite the same hunger for it as there would have been last season and Conte's ban and European football to deal with.

Still, from my point of view they weren't as fun to watch as they were last season.

The football was undoubtedly of a higher standard over the course of the season this time round, but there just wasn't the same pace and (at times, naive) enthusiasm that there was in their play last season that made them so entertaining.

Loads of games (most of which I have now forgotten) were really pretty dull this season, but there was just an inevitability that Juve would grind out the result.

Great for winning titles, but not so great to watch.

What an absolute travesty in that Milan game. They should've finished 4th. An absolute huge reason why interest in this league is declining
