Cassano out for "30-40 days"

Inter forward Antonio Cassano could potentially miss the rest of the season with a grade two hamstring tear.

The striker limped out of the Nerazzurri’s 4-3 loss to Atalanta on Sunday evening, and the club have confirmed that the injury will see him sidelined for “30-40 days”.

Andrea Stramaccioni is already without Diego Milito and Rodrigo Palacio through injury, and will now miss the 31-year-old for what could be the remainder of the campaign.

Mi piace Moratti, ha speso molto, ottenuto abbastanza, percorso tutte le strade, anche quelle che non avrebbe voluto. So che è un presidente molto tifoso, nessuno ha dato più di lui alla sua società, ma decide a volte di superare la siepe dell’ovvio con troppa disinvoltura. E’ molto dura seguirlo in questa sua nuova battaglia contro gli arbitri. Per molti motivi. Perchè l’Inter è in generale un asquadra sbagliata, anzi, una non squadra, giocatori importanti senza un indirizzo tecnico esatto. Perderebbe spesso comunque. Perchè la protesta arriva in un momento altrettanto sbagliato. La squadra ha perso tre partite consecutive in casa. Oggi stiamo parlando di un rigore inesistente dato quando l’Inter vinceva tre a uno, tre a due dopo il rigore. E il resto, gli akltri gol dell’Atalanta? Quando l’arbitro ha sbagliato l’Inter era in vantaggio di due gol a venticinque minuti dal termine. Perchè un arbitro in malafede dovrebbe aspettare oltre un’ora per cominciare a danneggiare la squadra che vuol far perdere? Un arbitro disonesto avrebbe gestito diversamente l’intera partita. Non avrebbe aspettato il secondo tempo e due reti di vantaggio per l’Inter prima di intervenire. Avrebbe gestito diversamente l’incontro. Con il rigore inventato l’Inter era ancora in vantaggio, Ranocchia alla fine ha sbagliato un gol facile che avrebbe mandato a gambe all’aria l’intero progetto arbitrale. Più normale, più semplice, alla terza sconfitta consecutiva in casa, guardare ai limiti della propria squadra. Agli esperimenti sbagliati, agli acquisti inutili, a quelli così così. In queste circostante tecniche, l’idea del complotto milanista è veramente difficile da capire.

Ma se anche fosse, si può dare di disonesto a un intero sistema senza fare un nome, senza una spiegazione che non siano i rigori non avuti per venti partite? Senza sapere quanti rigori non siano stati dati a tutte le altre squadre di A e B? Pessimi anche i giornalisti che accettano solo la versione del presidente senza approfondire. Chi sono i mandanti? Chi sono gli operativi? Si sa almeno di un sospetto reale? Si ha una piccola prova? E inoltre, si è reso conto Moratti di quanto non sia squadra la sua squadra? E’ disponibile con il suo staff ad ammettere errori? Da questo stesso mondo, questi stessi dirigenti, l’Inter ha preso pochi anni fa uno scudetto per esclsuione. Era arrivata terza, si ritrovò prima. Un caso unico. Davvero tutto questo mondo le è contro? Zanetti dice che gli interisti sono diversi, forse è vero, ma dovrebbe spiegare in cosa. Dove si manifesta questa diversità se si dà di disonesti a chi arbitra senza portare una prova?

Conosco le grandi storie dell’Inter, le sue vicende, la sua epica. Ma questo non lo capisco, mi sembra che i limiti della squadra siano decisamente più evidenti degli errori arbitrali. Perchè gli errori arbitrali non possono che esserci, come quelli di Ranocchia con l’Atalanta o Pizarro con Montolivo. Ma nessuno dice che Pizarro e Ranocchia sono disonesti. Può spiegarci Moratti cosa vuole davvero dire, i sospetti che ha, i personaggi che sente avversi? In una parola, il vero male del sistema? Perchè senza specificazioni, anche questo atto di rivolta torna a essere un coraggioso attacco contro nessuno.

Moratti facing action for comments

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has been referred to the Italian Football Federation's disciplinary commission (FIGC) for questioning the impartiality of match officials in Sunday's Serie A defeat to Atalanta.

Moratti criticised referee Andrea Gervasoni and his assistants for acting "without good faith" after seeing Atalanta recover from 3-1 down to win 4-3 at the San Siro after German Denis was awarded a controversial penalty.

Inter's official website published his comments alongside those of television presenter Paolo Bonolis, who specifically accused the authorities of favouring city rivals AC Milan.

A statement published on the Federation's website said: "After examining the statements published on April 8 and 9, 2013, the federal prosecutor has referred Inter president Massimo Moratti and his club to the disciplinary commission.

"Moratti has been referred for publishing offensive statements and judgements in the media regarding the reputation, good faith and impartiality of the match officials and consequently the consistency of the referees' work in the championship, therefore prejudicing the reputation of organisations operating within the FIGC, as well as the prestige and credibility of the federation.

"Inter are referred for having direct responsibility for the violation ascribed to the president and the legal representatives of Massimo Moratti's club.''

Moratti had told Inter's official website: "You only have to look at the way this season has gone, especially regarding us. When people want to hit you, they do it anyway.

"Even when there's no doubt - because there was nothing there - a penalty is given against us. We haven't been given a penalty for 21 games."

Ruben Botta is looking forward to his summer transfer to Inter. “I compare myself with Leo Messi and Angel Di Maria,” explained the midfielder.

The 23-year-old Argentine was wanted by numerous top clubs in Europe, but has agreed a five-year contract with the Nerazzurri.

“My father Ismael was a player and now works as a Coach, so I started playing when I was very young at San Juan,” the Tigre star told the Corriere dello Sport.

“I started out as a trequartista, because I always liked to ‘create’ something, or I can play as a support striker or out wide. I think I give my best in the finalthird, as I can unbalance opposition defences with my technique.

“I also consider myself a player who helps out his teammates a lot in winning back the ball. I became accustomed to it here at Tigre, where everyone has to sacrifice themselves for the good of the team.”

Some have compared Botta to PSG talent Ezequiel Lavezzi, but he sees a very different idol.

“Pocho is a great player, but he bases a lot of his game on physicality and pace, whereas I focus on technique and ability. Even when I am being tightly marked, I am not afraid of the one-on-one. The defender doesn’t know what I’m going to do.

“I say this will all due respect, but in terms of style I think I am closer to Messi than Lavezzi. If we were to play together, I could give him so many assists.

“In Argentina many of the journalists say my style is similar to Di Maria and I do think we have a lot of common ground.

“I am ready for Serie A, without doubt. My personality both on and off the field enables me to adapt quickly to new situations.

“I’m coming from a very competitive tournament and one that perhaps has more pressure than the European Leagues. This is why I think I am mature enough to face this new professional experience.

“My objective is to adapt as quickly as possible to what the Coach asks of me and the team.”
