The fact is that the team has played appreciably better since the Zeman sacking.In addition, it is obvious that player attitudes have also improved since Zeman's departure. However, the performance last weekend was simply awful. Our boys looked as though they did not want to play the game. If I did not know better, I would say that an arrangement was made to let Palermo win given their place in the table because they need to remain in Serie A. That is how bad it looked from where I was sitting. Like the match was fixed.

Yes, that's not a bad call, gio - I was particularly struck by how little interest Marquinho had in tracking back on a couple of occasions.

DCG, those objections would make more sense had it not been clear that the side was also mentally soft under Zeman (has been for years) and were called out for it repeatedly from within and from without and had there not been complete agreement that Andreazzoli also fooked up on the weekend (ANDREAZZOLI 4: Concede 45′ minuti in più di vacanza ai suoi che nel primo tempo non entrano in campo. What is that poll suppose to prove besides nothing, Edzo. Is this another one of your little tidbits to both rehabilitate Zeman along with yourself because you still think you were right? If the team does not win consistently then it is the coach that pays the price. It is what it is. Sacking Zeman was the right move. Whether that move eradicated the mistake in the first place is doubtful. This season is over and all we can do is hope that our management begins to get things right for next season. Does that exonerate the players for their piss poor performance against Palermo, no. In the end, the players have to perform to their talent level. If they fail to do that, the coach pays the price regardless.

Its not meant to prove anything, it shows that lots of other people think the problems with the team and the poor showing this season are not solely the fault of the manager. It doesn't justify that Zeman was innocent of all blame and a victim of a harsh decisions, but perhaps that there are more issues to be sorted out than simply having the right man at the helm. Of course the manager is important, but issues remain of the mentality of the team, of perhaps not having that winning belief and confidence, the desire to win at all costs, etched into the team overs years of not winning and the pressure and expectation of the fans and the city.

The team perhaps needs more time to gel, more time under the guidance of one permanent manager (ZZ not enough, AA officially only a temp, constant ongoing speculation). We've a lot of young players who still need more time like Dodo, Lamela (doing well but more to come you feel), Tachtsidis, Lopez; aging senior players with questions marks over them like Burdissso, Balza, Taddei; underperforming big-name or big-signing players like DDR, Stek, Castan, Destro; players who's futures are uncertain like Piris, Goic, Tachtsidis again; and then troublesome players like Osvaldo. Thats not meant to sound like its all doom and gloom, but rather to show that there are always going to be issues with a team put together over a season or two and time and patience are always needed, but rarely given.

Edzo, we can say that there are structural problems with any team that does not win. Of course Roma have more problems than just coaching. AA is a caretaker and it's doubtful that he will be back. Zeman cannot be successful in Serie A. His entire philosophy is flawed in my opinion. There is no problem with attacking football but when there is zero commitment to the defense, that is where I have a problem. Then his inflexibility is a major character flaw and that is what I think got him into trouble this year. The sum and substance here is that Roma need to get better as a team and in a lot of areas in order to be successful. As great as Totti has been, there are serious issues when a team is dependent on a 37 year old. In my opinion, Roma is not a very good team.

Not sure if they all sell tickets, some of the Roma stores are quite small and so probably don't have the facilities to sell them. It may only be the larger stores that sell them, but there's plenty of them around the city. Where is it you're staying?

Are you going to the match? I read there aren't many tickets left, just for the Tribuna Tevere and Mario Lato Sud, which are expensive.
