Antonio Conte was so dismayed by the controversy in Bologna that the Juventus Coach warned “it makes me want to leave Italy. This is sport, not war.”

The tactician has been repeatedly linked with prestigious jobs abroad, including Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.

Juve won 2-0 at the Dall’Ara last night and temporarily went 12 points clear at the top of the Serie A table, but Bologna manager Stefano Pioli berated him for an “exaggerated” celebration that showed “a lack of respect” towards the home team.

“I was celebrating with the Juventus fans,” insisted Conte in his Press conference. “I turned towards the Curva and the areas of the stands that I could see were full of Juventini. If I can’t even celebrate with my own supporters, then what can I do?

“With one minute to go, I am 2-0 up and putting a solid foundation on a Scudetto and am supposed to worry about how and where I celebrate? Are we kidding?

“Instead, try seeing how Juventus are welcomed in stadiums. I was truly stunned that a civilised city like Bologna greeted the team bus with sticks, rocks, spit, even people who shouted vile abuse while holding four-year-old children in their arms. What kind of an education are we giving young people?

“Seeing as there are so many cameras on the pitch and in the locker room, why not put some outside the stadium to show what happens when we arrive? Maybe that person with the child in their arms will see themselves, be ashamed and not go back to the stadium.

“This is the sort of thing people ought to be ashamed of, not rubbish like celebrating. I understand it hurts to lose, but let’s be realistic here.”

Following Conte’s appeal, the media also covered some of the chants and banners in the stands at the Dall’Ara, which included references to Heysel and the death of former President Agnelli.

“If this sort of thing happens in Bologna, which is such a lovely and civilised city, then it’s over. It is over, because I can sort of expect it in Naples with the great rivalry and the situation in the table, even if it felt like being in a war zone with tear gas...

“If I have to expect a welcome like this in Bologna, then I say that it really makes me want to leave Italy and go abroad. It must be a simpler life elsewhere.

“I cannot think of going with my family, my wife and my daughter to the stadium. We can’t go in Florence because it’s too risky, in Naples it’s too risky and now even Bologna is too risky...

“We are not at war, here. This is sport. This is a sport. In this situation, you may as well just leave. Right now my thoughts are exclusively on Juventus, but these things make you feel very bitter and disheartened. If it happens in Bologna, then we really do have to change everything. It’s easier to just go elsewhere.”

Conte also experienced the ugly side of Italian football when he was sitting out his four-month touchline ban, as he could not sit in the stands due to security concerns and had to watch games from the TV commentary boxes.

Sacchi : Difendo Conte: onora l’Italia e merita rispetto

La Juventus è prima in classifica con merito, tiene alto il nome dell’Italia in Champions: la squadra gioca un calcio bello e moderno, guidato da un allenatore ammirato in tutto il mondo. Vedere giocare i bianconeri è piacevole anche per chi non è juventino, e allora perché tanto astio, perché inveire, tirare sassi, offendere una squadra e un mister che ci fanno onore? Enzo Ferrari diceva che gli italiani perdonano tutto ma non il successo, mi chiedo quando l’intelligenza e la cultura avranno la meglio sull’ignoranza e l’invidia e quando andremo allo stadio per divertirci e non per insultare o compiere violenze? Poi facciamo i puristi con Conte se il tecnico si agita in panchina. Antonio è l’artefice principale del gioco dei bianconeri: autore e direttore di una squadra che è cresciuta in breve tempo in modo esponenziale regalandoci partita dopo partita spettacolo e serietà. Un team che aiuta ad ampliare la nostra conoscenza calcistica, apre nuovi orizzonti facendoci uscire dagli stereotipi e dai luoghi comuni: i bianconeri vincono e segnano molti gol senza avere uno specialista del gol. I bianconeri dominano in campo senza aver acquistato il top player. Il gioco ideato, condotto e allenato da Antonio è il vero leader che moltiplica le qualità tecniche e fisiche di tutti. Nella Juventus possano alternarsi tutti i giocatori e il gioco cambia poco, questo vale per Giaccherini, Asamoah maanche per Pirlo e tanti altri, i quali stanno dando il meglio di se stessi in un sistema che ne amplifica soluzioni e fantasia.
Per riuscire a tanto Antonio si è avvalso di un club che lo stima e lo supporta e che mai gli ha tolto autorevolezza così come ha usufruito di buoni giocatori che si sono dimostrati di alto livello sotto tutti i punti di vista: professionali, umani ed etici. Non ha ingaggiato i più famosi ma sicuramente i più funzionali alle sue idee calcistiche. I più generosi dei critici gli riconoscono grinta, passione, energia, componenti importanti perché non sarebbero sufficienti a spiegare l’armonia, la fluidità e la fantasia di questa squadra. Il gioco è un’entità difficile da comprendere perché astratta così come è altrettanto complicato comprendere la qualità didattiche dei vari mister. Antonio non solo possiede passione, entusiasmo, cultura del lavoro e perfezionismo ma ha una sensibilità e un talento che solo i grandi possiedono. I bianconeri sono una squadra dotata di organizzazione, tempistiche di gioco e di smarcamento di alto livello. Se questa squadra fosse un’orchestra sarebbe intonatissima e potrebbe interpretare tutte le musiche: dal rock alla sinfonica. I giocatori si muovono ad occhi chiusi, come fossero una sola cosa, non soltanto per lo spirito di squadra bensì per la conoscenza che il mister gli ha saputo infondere. Antonio è un grande professionista, generoso, intelligente. Possiede grandi capacità di insegnamento: credo che meriti il rispetto e il ringraziamento di tutti quelli che amano il bel calcio.

Cannavaro: 'I didn't dump Juve'

Fabio Cannavaro has hit back at critics and insists he “did not run away from Juventus” after their demotion to Serie B.

The defender was one of several star players who opted to walk away in the summer of 2006 after the Calciopoli scandal broke out.

Others, such as Gigi Buffon, Pavel Nedved and Alessandro The Waterboy, decided to stay and win back their status with promotion to Serie A.

“I did not run away from Juventus,” assured the World Cup winner on Radio 2.

“I simply asked to be sold abroad. I took this decision along with the club, who were selling players in package deals.

“Many were sold off for pittance, like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Patrick Vieira, but it’s wrong to say we ran away.”

Many Bianconeri supporters have not forgiven Cannavaro for leaving in their hour of need, rejecting talk of an Ibrahimovic return next season too.

3-5-1-1 against Bayern?

Would be a move that would help Juve stop Bayern playing. Extra presence in midfield and make it easier for Juve's midfielders to move into wide areas without leaving Juve light in the middle of the pitch, so it could solve the issue of Juve having a problem with being out-numbered on the flanks.

However, it would have to be considered a very negative move.

Bayern's weakness, as has been well publicised, is there CBs. I'm not sure I'd be up for not playing two forwards and trying to expose that weakness of Bayern's.

Moving to a 3-5-1-1 would involve trying to beat Bayern by taking them on where their strength lies, rather than really looking to exploit a weakness.

Playing Vucinic as a lone striker would also remove any possibility of Juve being able to playing long and early over the top to try and take advantage of Van Buyten's lack of pace or just having a striker running behind the defence with a view to stretching the game out with a view to opeining up space for Juve's midfield to be able to play. Vucinic would continually offer short, and could lead to the game being very congested and Bayern being confident enough to really push their defence high up the pitch. That would increase the chances of Juve being pinned back and under serious pressure for extended periods.

I would humbly suggest that there is a whole lot of shit being spoken in that article.

I see no reason to believe Juve won't be playing 3-5-2 as their primary system next season.
