looks like the only way to get a reliable host it to pay for one. a shame megaupload got fucked a few years back. this leaves us with one decent option: throw everything onto youtube and hope it stays. uploading uefa stuff is usually a no-go, but serie a and coppa matches are fine most of the time. its a pretty good alternative, actually. you can watch the game from anywhere like with an external hard drive, send it easily to friends, up the quality if your connection is fast enough, and not have an additional problem if your hard drive fries again.

Hmm, uploading stuff to Youtube is grand but its not as good as quality as having the high quality files yourself and being able to watch them full screen. Plus it also defeats the purpose of having a Multimedia thread were people can see and access on the games for download, which is what makes this thread so popular!

Is there any other free or cheap upload service? I will check around.

EDIT: Not sure if there are any free services. The likes of hotfile.com isn't too expensive, 6 Months Unlimited Downloading / 600Gb linking at $35. We could all chip in or maybe take it out of SerieAForums paypal

i'm not sure about that hotfile option. we'd have to pay every 6 months, and if at any point in the coming years, we cocked up and didn't, all of the matches would be lost again.

have you heard of unlisted videos on youtube? i think that's what they're called. they're videos which aren't quite public and aren't quite private - only viewers who have the direct link can see them. that would still keep the videos pretty much exclusive to the users of this forum, but i don't understand why we'd want to deprive other romanisti of these classics in the first place. you're worried about there not being a point in having this thread anymore, but i don't see why. it doesn't occur to most people that that the full matches are on youtube and very few go searching for them. when they do, most of the matches are buried under pages of bullshit search results, since the full matches don't have a lot of views and a low audience retention rate. take a look at the links I posted above - they're not mine, they're courtesy of romanisti around the world, and they've been sitting there for months or years. here people are, asking for uploads but not realizing they're readily available on the tube. of course there would still be a point in having this thread. we would still be helping out those determined guys who go through pages of youtube search results to find these videos, while also, by means of this thread, pointing guys like jayjustin and fedayn in the right direction. isn't that what we do, anyway, by posting links from fbtz? its not like this is the only forum those same links are posted on.

as for quality: if you use the youtube upload tool on windows live movie maker, for example, you can choose to upload the file in normal, "youtube" quality (360p) or pretty much the same quality as the original file (480, 720, or 1080p).

Yeah good point about those videos being hard to find on YouTube and listing them here so as to make this thread this viable. We could look to save or archive them here as classic matches or whatever and do some graphics and stuff.

And let me know if you change your mind about the hotfile option, if its a runner we could look to set up an account with the forums paypal.

I'll chip in. Hell, I'd even foot the bill. I'm burning all my games to DVD's to build a library. Although I do appreciate the Youtube links, they're not what I'm after. What about going the route of Dropbox? I've used it passingly so I'm not too sure about the size limits.

Depends on the game. Bigger the game the more links. Sometimes may be only 1 cap if its a small fixture, but usually there's a few.
