So how do you guys like our new striker? If one doesn't take into consideration that he's overweight, out of form, old, already retired and that he's scored 3 goals in his last 2 carreer years, I think it's a good deal. Seems like he was starting to become a new film star and model....For Christ's sake.
Well I'd love to see a tunnel fight during Inter-Juve between him & Giovinco...that would make his arrival worth it.

Hahaha this is beyond a fucking joke. Carew doesn't even last a day then reports come out that we are looking at the retired van horse face for 15 months but he said no. Where does the talk of 15 months even come from!?!?!?

There surely has to be a junior that we can promote?

Plus our little Japanese star needs to have knee surgery and is going to be out for a while (weeks if not months).

Strama to stay at Inter

Inter will keep faith with Coach Andrea Stramaccioni, despite links of a managerial change at the end of the season.

Sport Mediaset have claimed that 37-year-old will still be in charge of the Nerazzurri next term, even after rumours of a change of direction over the summer.

Napoli boss Walter Mazzarri has been linked with the San Siro side, as has Atletico Madrid tactician Diego Simeone.

But the website believe that President Massimo Moratti will be patient with their young Coach and give him another season to make his mark on this Beneamata team.

Stramaccioni has led Inter to the last 16 of the Europa League as well as a current fifth place position in Serie A.

Luciano Spalletti esalta Andrea Stramaccioni. Dalle colonne della Gazzetta dello Sport, il tecnico dello Zenit riempie di complimenti il collega nerazzurro: "Il tecnico nerazzurro è alla ricerca di soluzioni. Prima andava benissimo ora va benino ma il presidente Moratti deve dargli fiducia. Mettere in discussione Stramaccioni sarebbe l’errore più grave che l’Inter potrebbe commettere. Moratti doesn’t want to waste Strama

Inter chief Massimo Moratti has underlined his faith in boss Andrea Stramaccioni. “I don’t want to throw him away.”

The tactician was promoted from the youth team set-up last March, but there are suggestions that he may be shown the door if the side again fail to qualify for the Champions League.

“I can’t reason in the same way with him as with more mature Coaches,” Moratti told Tuttosport in a revealing interview.

“Stramaccioni comes with many advantages and it would be a shame if he was burned because of temporary situations.

“That’s why I’m very aware of the fact that I don’t want to throw him away.”

Moratti, though, has underlined how important returning to Europe’s most prestigious club competition is.

“We lost €30m in revenue,” he stated when asked about the cost of last season’s failure to finish in the top three. “That competition is the base from which we need to work from.”

One name linked with Stramaccioni’s job has been Real Madrid’s Jose Mourinho, the man who led the Beneamata to an historic treble in 2010.

“The affection remains between us. He was recently interviewed where he said ‘us Interisti’ and I can imagine that Real were not impressed.

“However, his return is not possible.”

Turning to the playing staff, Moratti expects Javier Zanetti, Esteban Cambiasso, Diego Milito and Walter Samuel to still be at Inter next season. Sampdoria’s Mauro Icardi could join them.

“He should be ours if we can do a deal with Sampdoria. I think he’ll do well with us.

“The failed signing of John Carew? He’s a good guy, but it would have taken him at least a month to get into shape and the season is coming to a close.”

Moratti also underlined how keen he is to build his own stadium, but admitted that he’ll need financial help.

“I’m looking for partners, but I’ll remain with at least 51 per cent. Building stadiums is not my job, but the Americans are exceptional at this and an American investor would be interesting.

“I’ve been presented with a number of stadium projects and I’m intrigued by one of them. The arena needs to be a functional one in the style of the city.

“Would I sell Inter? I’ve thought about it. It would have to be at the right time, but then I think about the fans who have faith in me. I then tell myself that I can’t trick them.”

Moratti also used the interview to speak well of Andrea Agnelli, the President of historical rivals Juventus.

“I love Andrea,” he stated. “He’s young, a gentleman and good. He inherited Juventus at a time of great difficulty.

“In two years he’s got them back to winning the Scudetto, actually two in three years as I’m sure they’ll win it again.

“He puts his heart and soul into the club, that’s a family duty. There is affection between us.”

Italian newspapers claim Antonio Cassano and Inter Coach Andrea Stramaccioni had to be physically separated after a blazing locker room row. Both La Gazzetta dello Sport and La Repubblica maintain the pair got into such a heated slanging match that it degenerated into pushing and shoving before the other players intervened to pull them apart.

According to the reports, the row occurred after Friday’s training session and had started off as a relatively normal discussion. It all degenerated in the locker room until teammates had to step in and stop them physically attacking each other.

La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests it was Dejan Stankovic and Team Manager Ivan Cordoba who were most actively involved in splitting the pair up.

Inter President Massimo Moratti is now due at the training ground to help calm the situation, but it’s possible Cassano will be dropped for tomorrow’s big game against Catania.

Cassano is a cancer to the clubs he plays in. He's not functional to any kind of setup and ends up dictating a team's functionality according to his limits. These arguments with every coach he's ever had are a bonus to this argument. My gut feeling is that if we hadn't brought him in this summer, we'd have a much better gameplan, a much more mature Coutinho and who knows, maybe even a few more points (of course, the original sin of all this was wanting Pazzini out...how much do we want someone like him right now?!?).
If he stays another year (which I presume he will), we'll have to settle for another year of non-transition like this one. It's impossible to construct something in this modern age with the likes of Cassano as he won't stand on the bench without doing these kind of 'shows'.

Inter completed an amazing comeback from 2-0 down to win 3-2 in stoppages with Rodrigo Palacio bagging a brace.

Antonio Cassano was left behind after a blazing row with Coach Andrea Stramaccioni, while Diego Milito, Walter Samuel, Matias Silvestre, Yuto Nagatomo, Gaby Mudingayi, Joel Obi and Luca Castellazzi were injured. With Rodrigo Palacio not 100 per cent fit either and Andrea Ranocchia suspended, Tommaso Rocchi got his first Inter start with Ezequiel Schelotto and Ricky Alvarez. Catania were only two points adrift of Inter and on fine form, but Nicola Legrottaglie and Giuseppe Bellusci sat out bans.

Catania took advantage of a defensive howler from Juan Jesus to take the lead. The Brazilian defender tried to protect the ball to let it out for a goal kick, but under pressure from Gonzalo Bergessio at the by-line he pushed it back into the middle, allowing the striker to smash in at the near post.

Zdravko Kuzmanovic tried to fight back with a long-range strike wide and Samir Handanovic comfortably smothered a Papu Gomez attempt.

Inter’s defence was again caught napping on a long Francesco Lodi free kick, as Giovanni Marchese was allowed a free header at the back post that looped over Handanovic.

Rocchi attempted a shot, but it was too weak to trouble Mariano Andujar, but Bergessio got away from defenders down the left and the pull-back was just too hard for Lucas Castro.

Rodrigo Palacio and Dejan Stankovic came on, but the restart was delayed by a few minutes so stewards could sellotape the goal support back together.

Inter tried to fight back, but left themselves wide open to the counter and Handanovic had to parry one-on-one with Bergessio.

Fredy Guarin had a chance when his angled drive flashed across the face of goal and moments later Inter did pull one back.

Rodrigo Palacio burst past Alexis Rolin and got to the by-line down the right, pulling across for Ricky Alvarez’s diving header from six yards.

Guarin’s header whistled over from an Alvaro Pereira cross and Catania again wasted on the counter, as Castro hesitated and Bergessio kicked the ball out of Handanovic’s hands, sparking a scuffle.

Inter completed the comeback with substitute Palacio, who rose above Rolin to nod in Alvaro Pereira’s cross from six yards.

Palacio had complaints in a tussle with Nicolas Spolli and Castro blasted past the far top corner. Alvarez dribbled into the area and hesitated, rolling across for Ezequiel Schelotto who had both shots charged down by Andujar from six yards.

Catania gave Edgar Cani his debut, but Esteban Cambiasso had a sensational chance to give Inter victory in the final minute, volleying across the face of goal to skim the back post.

Inter managed to turn it all around in stoppages, going from 2-0 down to win 3-2 in Sicily. Cambiasso pulled back from the by-line for Palacio to tap in from eight yards, as Andujar got a hand to it, but let the ball squirm under his body.
