Balotelli orders statue of himself

Mario Balotelli has commissioned a life-size statue of himself to stand in his Brescia home. “He’ll be immortalised in the pose after a goal.”

The Milan and Italy striker has already become famous for his audacious style choices, including a camouflage Bentley.

“I received the commission, but have never actually met Balotelli, so I am working from photographs,” local artist Livio Scarpella told Il Giornale di Brescia newspaper.

“I presented various sketches, but Mario wanted to be immortalised in the pose after a goal: muscles in evidence and an expression to challenge the opponents.”

This seems to be the pose he adopted after scoring the second goal against Germany in the Euro 2012 semi-final.

“I imagined him as an athlete from ancient times. The statue will be between the classic and pop style, in platinum and coloured bronze with the eyes made of precious stones.”

i kinda side with red on the inter game, but not putting away more of the chances in the first ended up hurting us. if we had been more clinical, the inter goal wouldn't have mattered much. still, we only got one in the first so that shouldn't have been enough to give allegri the idea to change tactics. oh well, if it ain't broke, break it.

typical away game yesterday, genoa out-ran us for most of the game and got to the balls first, but we were able to score in important moments of the match to kill any hopes for their come-back.

niang and el sharaawy were real shite yesterday, not holding onto the ball long enough to bring the fullbacks into the game, always trying to attack their man from the half-way line which always results in losing the ball.

we kept tight at the back, and genoa didn't have many chances until constant idiotically got himself sent off for reacting to a foul. even then, we didn't give much space in front of the box.

pazzini was great when he was on the field. he's not the most extravagant striker by any means, but he'll get stuck in and be a huge nuisance for most of the defenders he faces and he's got a great eye for goal. if he wasn't limping, he wouldn't have found himself where the ball landed to score the goal. fortune favors the brave i guess.

scrappy win, but not undeserved. couldn't ask for more going into the game against barca.

Reagrding the condition of Giampaolo Pazzini, the club wishes to communicate that following tests this morning, it has been revealed that the player has suffered a micro-fracture in his right leg.


this blows. niang will probably start, he's got a great physique for holding off defenders and i think he can do a good job of it against pique and puyol. whether he can step up for the challenge is the real question. forza niang!

not sure about mastour, greg. he looks to scrawny at the moment to play in the big leagues.

hard to imagine the game having gone more wrong for us than it did. losing 4-0 after winning 2-0 at home should lead to some questions getting asked. allegri will have some explaining to do as if it's one or two players playing poorly, it's hard to blame the coach; but if it's the whole team getting demolished, hard not to. it looked like it was 11 vs 7 out there for long stretches of the match and never better than 11 vs 10. did the guys fill up on cheese cake and rioja the night before and ruined their sleep?

that was not a football game but an old-fashioned gang rape.
