I can't see us losing by a 4 goal margin at home unless Buffon, Storari and Rubinho get injured, and Chimenti comes out of retirement.

Thoroughly lethargic display. Never a surprise after a CL game, but undesirable nonetheless.

No sense of urgency in Juve's play, with the forwards and midfielders terribly static. Wasn't even the suggestion that Juve might move the ball quickly from side to side in order to move Roma around and possibly open up some space.

In games like that, when Juve are struggling and the opposition are looking dangerous on the break, why do Juve continue committing men ahead of the ball and taking risks when there doesn't seem any propest of a reward? Be better off withdrawing slightly to see if the opposition want to come out a bit which might give Juve chances on the counter-attack.

Thought the back three and Buffon did well to not concede any goals from open play, because the rest of the team certainly presented Roma with plenty of dangerous counter-attacking situations.

Be difficult to say anything positive about the midfield or attack.

What were you saying about Conte not being a cry baby after every loss? Guy has an excuse for everything. Juve played like shit. Why can't he just come out & credit Roma? His post match comments were absurd. What's even more absurd is that his players have to come out and clean up the mess he makes. By the way, how great is Caceres??? I've always said it, another Nostradinos special. I may have been wrong about Boumsong being the next Thuram but I was fooled by the skin tone.

Fairly indifferent stuff for the most part.

Still, it's a win with minimal effort and the players a booking away from missing the Napoli game came through it cleanly.

Juve were moving the ball around reasonably well in the first half - made easier by the giant space Siena were leaving in front of their defence - but there wasn't really much suggestion that a goal was coming because clear chances weren't really being created.

Pegolo intervened and got the job done, though.

While Juve dropped off a bit too much, it was still good to see them going deeper once they went ahead to remove the danger of conceding on the counter-attack.

Fair puts the pressure on Napoli ahead of their game tomorrow.

Nothing spectacular, but nothing significantly wrong either. Its understandable to have games like this, as long we get the three points. Which we did.

Its good to see Chiellini back on the field.

Big game against Napoli on friday. With their draw against Udinese, we're 6 points clear, so I'd be satisfied with a draw in Napoli. But I hope the fact that we're 6 points clear and Celtic game don't make us overly complacent or cautious. Napoli is going to be gunning for us. And the crowd is going to be especially loud against us especially with Maradona there. An early goal by Napoli might catch us off guard and will probably result in a loss, because Napoli is a good counterattacking team. An early goal for us and we silence the crowd and give ourselves a chance to sit back and hit them on the counters. Should be a decent game either way. Hopefully we don't lose, although it wouldn't be the end of the world if we did. We win would give us a 9 point lead and a comfortable cushion, allowing Conte to rotate his squad in the league, while resting players for CL.

I didn't think of it that way. I suppose we could do that. But I feel like if we take the game to them, it'll end up being like the COppa Italia final where the kept catching us on the counter.

Yeah, it's a delicate balance when playing Napoli.

It's just a slight change of mentality I'd be looking for.

Instead of going there for the draw and hoping to win, I'd be looking at how to have a bit more control over the game and try to win it.

Every chance I would play the first half the same way in both cases and see how the game is progressing before making any bold moves.

Perfectly acceptable result for Juve, even if the performance was mixed.

After a fairly hectic start, Juve did a good job of slowing the tempo and contained Napoli pretty comfortably. Juve played nice and safe and long with Vidal making some cracking runs, while Giovinco pulled short, which Napoli were having a hard time dealing with.

When 1-0 up and in control of the game and causing Napoli problems, Juve really should have got the second goal and that would have pretty much finished the game and the title race. You'd have to say Vucinic's miss was a huge missed opportunity for Juve.

Napoli then get a lucky goal from nothing and changed system at halftime and that changed the game. The goal gave them a hige lift since they were going in level when they should have been out of the game. The change to 4-3-1-2 allowed them to take control of the midfield and gave them the chance to get their wingbacks higher up the pitch and stretch Juve in a way they couldn't in the first half. With them having more presence in midfield, it also became riskier for Juve's midfielders to run beyond the ball, so Juve became much less of an attacking threat.

Thought Juve dealt with being putting under pressure very poorly. The CB didn't show enough aggression in the box to go and actually win headers and clear the ball, instead of merely being content to block their man. The forwards didn't do enough to hold the ball and relieve the pressure.

Chiellini is one of the best centre-halfs in Europe, but his antics from set-pieces are a disgrace and a pure embarrassment to the art of defending.

In all seriousness, and perhaps in any other league in Europe (except la Liga), I counted he should have had four penalties awarded against him last night.

Cavani should have seen red, of course, but I can understand his frustration. This grappling and holding from set-pieces is nothing new, but it seems to have gone to another level altogether this season and the officials just seem to ignore it, and it drives me mad. Chiellini had Cavani in an actual headlock late in the second-half, and the ref gave a free out.

Its beyond ridiculous, yet nothing will be done or said about it in Italy. It has to change, which means it won't.

Can't say that I noticed anything outwith the norm in the penalty boxes last night.

Thought Napoli should have had a penalty for a foul by Lichtsteiner on Pandev after Buffon missed a back-post corner, but nothing other than that.
