Well, he should have started De Rossi, threadmund, and he made no attempt (would he ever?) to change his formation and tactics despite being without Totti, Osvaldo, Lopez, and Pjanic - that is, with only two of the forward options he's turned to for the front three positions. So Marquinho and Dodo play there. He replaced Piris with Marquinhos - which is fine, but with Taddei on the bench. If Marquinhos plays, play him at CB; if you want another option at right back, turn to another right back . . . . He made no move to strengthen the midfield when things were going horribly wrong in the second half - sure, Marquinhos was off when the goal was scored, but it was pretty clear well before that that the shape of the game had changed entirely. Destro was a total passenger in the second half - but couldn't be replaced because of the rigidity of the tactics he plays.

Oh, and his comments on DDR after the game are simply embarrassing.

Who should he have started De Rossi in place off, though? I was quite surprised to see him on the bench, but I was expecting Tachtsidis to start as mediano, so either in place of Florenzi or Bradley? He could have brought DDR on, and I thought he certainly should have, even if Piris was injured and taking Marquinho off seemed inevitable, which used up two of the subs.

So is he saying DDR can't play without Pjanic? And that DDR can't play in the role of mezz'ala as one of the runners?

Zeman would never change his tactics. In fact, I would like to know if he's ever changed his tactics and not played 4-3-3. In all his time as manager, due to to injuries or suspensions or whatever, has he ever played anything else? I would doubt it, but it'd be interesting to know. Him changing his tactics for todays game was never going to happen, especially as one of the only three forward players got injured about 30 minutes before kick-off. There wasn't really many other options than to go with Marquinho at that stage. He may not be a natural forward, but he's versatile. Its a pity Lopez was away on international duty, and its typical it would be at the same time when two other forwards are injured and one is suspended.

Marquinhos played at right-back in his first few games for us, did he not? On that horrid night away to Juve when he would have hardly known all his teammates first names. I think he's played at right-back for Corinthians too.

I am never a snobby, arrogant cunt. I exhibit such extravagant patience I'm sure that one day the good Lord will reward me for it, but not quite the patience of a Saint, since my bounds of suffering are not quite limitless. Too as in as well - as well as with Pjanic, with Florenzi, too, alongside Tachtsidis. Florenzi to give profondita', enthusiasm, mobility, an attacking edge, balancing DDR's tendency to sit in more alongside Tachtsidis than beyond Lamela. Two lop-sided mezz'ale, one more offensive, one more defensive.

Zeman is a born loser. Although his attacking approach to the game is admirable and may be entertaining to watch, it's never going to win you a trophy. The foundation to success in any sport is DEFENSE. Zeman is not the right guy if you want a coach to build a solid foundation that leads to future success.
