Juve won’t release Giaccherini

Bologna have failed in an attempt to sign Emanuele Giaccherini from Italian champions Juventus, reports Sky Sport Italia.

The Rossoblu asked the Bianconeri to loan them the midfielder for the rest of the season, but the Turin outfit have decided against releasing the 27-year-old.

Although the former Cesena man has only made seven League appearances this season, boss Antonio Conte is a fan of his versatility.

Giaccherini could be used more frequently at the start of 2013 as Kwadwo Asamoah will be on duty at the African Cup of Nations.

Quite a lot of stuff about suggesting Juve are close to Peluso and Doria.

Peluso would be about 5m.

Doria is a young CB from Brazil and 4.2m is being spoken about, but that may just be for the chunk of him that Botafogo actually own.

5m seems a bit steep for a 28 year old whose never even played in european club competition, not mention little to no national team experience.

That being said, from what I've seen, he's pretty solid. We need a consistent left winger to substitute Asamoah.

We could use one CB, a top class striker, and (although not completely necessary) a CM.

Wouldn't view another central midfielder particularly necessary just now, particularly if Juve get Peluso which could free Asamoah for a midfield role if required.

I'd say 5m is about right for Peluso.

Wonder if Juve are trying to kill two birds with one stone with the Peluso signing, since he has also played at CB a bit?

Given that Caceres and Marrone are all Juve have as backup CBs just now, they really should get in a reliable backup (Bocchetti).

Yeah, the Peluso signing helps us out in a few ways, although I didn't know he's played CB. If that's true then Marrone could be our back up CB/CM until we can start thinking of a replacement for Pirlo in the summer.

Bocchetti would be ideal since he's not cup tied, at least not in CL. Either way I think we'll be alright until Chiellini gets back, unless we get another injury or a couple suspensions. Astori would be perfect, though.

Probably a bit on the pricey side for a backup CB, though.

The way Conte rotates his squad he'll get just as much playing time as any of the other CBs, especially since we're still in 3 competitions.

Dunno.

Conte seems keen to rotate the forwards and, to a lesser extent, the wingbacks.

Not convinced he's as keen to mess with the defence and central midfield.

Peluso seems to be done.

~5.5m split between a loan fee and the transfer fee in the summer.

Loan with obligation to buy.

Bilbao have confirmed Juve are in negotiations with Llorente for him to join them at the end of his contract.

Seems like a decent list. I rate those options in the same order gazzetta has them listed.
Although I have to say, If Juve don't manage to sign Drogba or Llorente this month, I consider this transfer window a huge failure.

PS: I hope Ghana and the Ivory Coast get knocked out in the group stages.

Don't see Llorente as option this month.

Bilbao still seem set on making their point that players only leave at the end of their contract or if their buy-out clause is met.

I also wouldn't necessarily blame Marotta if he doesn't sign Drogba.

Just depends on whether his wage demands are reasonable or not.

“We are looking to the future and monitored those players who will be out of contract, among them the Basque striker, who we are at an advanced stage with.”

All seems pretty much done for him to join in the summer for 4-4.5m per season for four years.

That seems like a pretty high salary for him, but I guess it evens out since were picking him up on a bosman.

Yeah, it's pretty tough to get Bosman players without overpaying a bit on wages.

Still, he's a player I like a lot and I see him fitting in well with Juve's style of play.
