So, Adidas looks like favourite to replace Kappa. Adidas has a partnership with Lucas Arts (formerly owned by George Lucas, of course), who are owned by Disney. Lucas Arts has also done several ads for Volkswagen. And as we know, Disney and VW are now media partners with Roma. Also, Christoph Winterling, the new Commercial Director of Roma, previously worked with Adidas Italia.

(Leggo – F. Balzani) - Maglia tedesca per la Roma americana che, dopo aver rescisso il contratto con Robe di Kappa (la questione finirà in tribunale), è in trattativa con Adidas. Scelta che sarebbe figlia di una trama commerciale: Adidas ha una partnership con la Lucas Arts per il merchandising, quest’ultima (società di videogame del regista di Star Wars) è stata acquistata recentemente dalla Disney e ha girato alcuni spot per Volkswagen (due partner della Roma). Altro indizio: il direttore commerciale della Roma è Winterling, ex Adidas.

Sulle nuove maglie ci sarà un nuovo sponsor: Wind farà posto a Volkswagen che, ieri, ha mandato in onda il primo spot «giallorosso». Protagonisti i top player Totti, Osvaldo e Lamela. Non De Rossi, reduce dal weekend a Londra (ieri con lui anche Osvaldo), mentre da Parigi si fantastica su uno scambio con Pastore.

The VW logo is going to look shit on the shirt. Almost as bad as the Burger King one on Palermo's. I'd like to say that they could simply print the outline of the VW in white, or orange, on the red, but I know that if they're going on the shirt it'll be a massive blue ball of shite.

I'll never stop saying it: make like Amazon's Kindle and charge more for a shirt without advertising. I'd pay extra for it. All that said and done, I don't really give a shit about the shirt or new sponsors. I want that stadium announced. They're still bullshitting about 2016, and there hasn't even been a site picked. So three years to build a massive project ... in Rome, where it's taken me six months to get a copy of my internet bill. They promised action on this when they took over, and a year later there's still dick all to show for it.

They own Wolfsburg, Edzo. The whole city, for all intents and purposes. It was built to house the company's employees, and the football team resulted as a way to entertain them. It is, if I'm not mistaken, the only club in Germany that is allowed to be solely owned by one corporate investor. The league rules, known as a 50+1 rule I think, are quite strict about clubs not becoming play things of the rich and require a minimum of 51% of the club to be owned by club members.

If they just have the VW logo in white (no black) it could be cool enough I suppose. And I have nothing against the brand like I do Wind (aka the torturers of innocent internet-using souls).

Wow I never knew Wolfsburg are owned by Volkswagon. Thats weird/interesting. Maybe they can become a feeder club for us or something (joke). a story about them being involved in some corruption claim.

VW also has sponsorship deals with various Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga clubs including VfL Wolfsburg, Schalke 04, FC Kaiserslautern, VfL Bochum, MSV Duisburg and Eintracht Braunschweig

EDIT: Don't think these are main sponsorship deals like on the jerseys, for example Schalke are sponsored by Gazprom.

Ciao Pocari, good to see you again, all good here, hope your keeping well yourself. I rather like that style of jersey too. It has an old-school Adidas look to it as opposed to the more modern version which I posted above. The VW logo is much to big in it but the yellow works well.

European football's governing body Uefa is considering ditching the Europa League in favour of extending the Champions League from 32 to 64 teams.

"We're discussing it. We will make a decision in 2014. Nothing is decided yet," Uefa president Michel Platini told French newspaper Ouest-France.

I got as far as "Secondo il Daily Star" and then stopped believing. But I will say this, DDR has never been ashamed of leveraging for a move when it suited him. If he does go, I hope he doesn't play this like a "they don't want me" sob story, because it won't be. If he wants to move on, fine, but I'll go postal if he tries to hang the blame solely on the club.

That piece in the Daily Star and the latest trash of him moving to Citeh from the english media originated on him being in London for the weekend, nothing more. It is complete bullshit.
