Moratti on Juve controversy

Inter President Massimo Moratti doesn’t believe there was anything sinister in Juventus’ controversial win at Catania on Sunday.

The Old Lady won the game 1-0 after benefitting from a number of refereeing mistakes at the Stadio Massimino.

But Moratti, speaking ahead of Saturday’s game between the two clubs, isn’t adding to the controversy.

“Although it seems dramatic at the moment it will all blow over in a few days' time,” the oil baron noted.

“The game certainly left an impression, it was an absurd situation.

“What matters most though is that things have happened due to error and not for other reasons. And since this was definitely a case of error, the season will balance itself out.”

Catania chief Antonino Pulvirenti was so outraged with the events of Sunday lunchtime that he’s asked for the game to be replayed.

“I'm not going to get into that,” Moratti noted. “Pulvirenti is understandably angry. I have no desire whatsoever to give my opinion on that matter.

“The game against Juventus? There's no controversy with us at the moment. We steer away from controversy with Juve.

“I hope we can go into it with the mind-set of two teams where one has already given ample demonstration of how good they are, and are current Scudetto holders, and the other is trying to emerge and show how good they can be.

“I hope it's a decent match on a sporting level.”

Inter have been one of the surprises of the championship given that they have won their last five League games which means they are only four points adrift of the Old Lady.

“We thought we’d start well, but take a bit longer to get the team clicking than we have done,” he continued.

“The credit goes in equal measure to the players and the Coach as they have been able to adapt to the changes.”

Moratti took a risk in March by appointing Primavera boss Andrea Stramaccioni and it seems to be paying off.

“The Coach is undoubtedly talented and the players who have won a lot are a big help for the younger ones.

“That mix of youngsters and champions creates the conditions both for Stramaccioni to trust them and for them to perform well. And I think we are doing very well.”

Lomba i really believe that our refs are not up to scratch ,dont think theres plot
as in the past,one thing should be keept in control and that is the amount of
preassura the merda put the refs and get away with it .that include players and banch
they always mouthing off and get away and the not so good refs linesman and so on

Strama: 'Inter, ignore Juventus'

Andrea Stramaccioni tries to keep Inter focused on Sampdoria just days ahead of their clash with Juventus.

The Nerazzurri are on stunning form going into Saturday night’s Derby d’Italia, but first face a wounded Samp side.

“I think Sampdoria started well, but have only slowed down recently in terms of results rather than performances,” argued the Coach in his Press conference.

“I therefore await a side that wants to turn around that negative trend by making the most of the characteristics that can cause us problems.”

Antonio Cassano was on the bench for Sunday’s 3-1 win in Bologna due to neck pain, while Stramaccioni was asked whether he’d rest Andrea Ranocchia and Fredy Guarin to ensure they don’t pick up costly yellow cards.

“Cassano is feeling better and trained with us today, so hopefully he should be there tomorrow. As for the players on a yellow card, in my eyes there is only the game with Samp, so I will put out the best team to beat our next opponents.

“I am good at not thinking about Juve. I am focused only on preparing for the Sampdoria match in minute detail. Besides, one can only talk about the meeting with Juventus being a head-to-head at the top of the table if we beat Sampdoria first.”

The Nerazzurri have really taken off since Stramaccioni switched to a three-man defence, but he explains it is not as radical a change as first thought.

“When you play against a team that uses wide forwards or tries to spread the play, it can transform the defence into a four. In that sense, against Catania Juan Jesus practically played as a left-back.

“So far with this system we have only conceded goals from midfielders, so the players who are not on the radar of my defenders. I have always got the sense of solidity from my defence. We saw in Sampdoria’s game with Napoli and Marcelo Estigarribia or Roberto Soriano are good at spreading a three-man defence.”

Juan Jesus is suspended, joining the injured Wesley Sneijder, Joel Obi, Philippe Coutinho, MacDonald Mariga, Cristian Chivu and Dejan Stankovic.

“Sneijder will not be ready to face Juventus on Saturday. After that game I hope to start the phase of his return to the field, then it’s up to the medical staff to give the all-clear.”

Stramaccioni was also asked about the recent controversy over Catania’s disallowed goal against Juventus.

“Up until what happened in Catania, I considered the experiment of using goal line referees to be positive. Perhaps I have a romantic vision of football, but I think it is best when seen and judged by human eyes.

“I do not believe the errors are all aimed in one direction. I think they were simply mistakes and nothing more. I saw no pro-Juventus trend.”

Bergomi: What a Cambiasso!

Inter legend Beppe Bergomi says he’s been impressed by the recent form of veteran midfielder Esteban Cambiasso.

“He’s physically in great shape,” stated the 1990 World Cup defender. “I have never seem him play in the way he did at Bologna.

“On Sunday, he attacked, defended and was always prepared to run back and help the team. He was all over the place.”

The 32-year-old, who had a problematic 2011-12 season, scored his first League goal of the season in the 3-1 win.

Cambiasso, 32, has appeared in all nine of his side’s Serie A matches this term.

Juventino you may believe you may not does not matter.
the spanish been doing that at all level of sport for some time
remember Ulrick ?or BASSO .they got time ,none of the spanish
soccer players got punished and the prove was there from DR fluentes
records .Vidal the tennis playes been doing blood doping for some time
now JUVE employ Vidal coach to prepare the players fisically ,get the picture ?

I think this game comes at the right time. I have seen Juve playing these last games and was not impressed at all. In fact, I think that without some of their luck they would be on the same points as us (or maybe even 2 points behind us - deserved to lose by far against Fiorentina, against Napoli and Genoa it was a draw game, not to mention Catania etc.).

But anyway, I really think Strama knows what he is doing. He puts a lot of attention to detail when preparing games and in this he reminds me a bit of Mou. Something else which makes me positive for Saturday is our good away for as well as the form of some other players. Milito was in very good shape against Samp and so are some other important players like Palacio, Cassano, Rannochia and Cambiasso. I've also seen a very good Guarin after some below par games.

What will be key on Sat is the pressing and aggressivity on Pirlo. If we lock Pirlo, they will suffer. He is the classy player in Juventus which can turn things round. Block Pirlo, be extra concentrated in defence and leave the rest to those 3 infront ... this is what we have to do. Nothing will give me more pleasure than to be the team to end the pigs' unbeaten run is their own stadium.
