I think in the end, if you were against the signing of Zeman (and let's be honest, there is plenty of reasons to be against his appointment) then he's given you no reason to change your mind. The critique of him is very fair. He's losing games he should should shut the door on and collected 3 points.

With all that said, this team is very young and/or new at critical areas. Stek (Who Zeman inherited) has been awful. WIth young and inexperienced players it's gonna have ups and downs. The Juve game was very disappointing but let's be honest, they are a better team, the best team these kids have ever faced most likely. A team built slowly, given time to integrate and with a higher budget to buy well seasoned vets. Maybe being taken behind the woodshed was what some of them needed.

I think Zeman deserves criticism for some of his choices, but i don't think we can blame him for everything. This team does need to show massive improvement though and I'm afraid my concerns about Dan Ross are coming true.

Also, I agree with Collie on that article. I don't know why anyone would reference Suzy. I've seen everyone here have more salient points than any article she's ever written. In fact, I'd rank her "articles" lower in quality than most average posts on this site.

There's actually a lot about Zeman that I really like. I think his appointment was cynical, that's all; unlike gio, though, I was quite happy with it. But, then, I'm rather less - or rather differently - demanding of Roma than most. I'm pleased to see Montella doing well at Fiorentina too, though, and Pizza with him.

We'll see how the team reacts to the hiding. They've a month to get their shit together for the derby, with games against shitty Atalanta, Genoa and struggling Udinese. Nine points from those three and we can start to be positive again. A loss, even a draw, in any of those matches and we've no right to be considered contenders for the CL spot.

I like Tachtsidis, but for the moment I think DDR needs to be in the central role with Bradley and Pjanic and settle at that. I've loved Taddei's contributions over the years, but he ain't a fullback. Especially not at his age. He was sloppy as hell against Samp and should have actually been exploited for it. The CdS suggested Marquinho as a fullback for his pace and strength ... not sure about that but I'd prefer to see him given a shot there than rely on a 32-year-old winger.

Also, I'd give Florenzi a go on the right up front with Oz and Totti. I think Lamela and Destro could be great, but you can't argue with the young Roman's start and I'd like to see him get a good run in the team. I'd move him up - not as a promotion or demotion - just to free up a spot in the midfield for a worker like Bradley.

I wouldn't go counting on those 'easy' games for points, Collie. At Roma's best (and this is *far* from the best), we tend to struggle against 'little' teams -- not that I would call Udinese little, but Atalanta, yes. I'm expecting one point Sunday.

Gio has been in and out of the Squad and the spine was largely intact. Pirlo and Vidal were the big piece. FBs are plug and play for the most part and as i said, they have the money to buy Serie A star quality veterans.

As opposed to us, who are forced to purchase young players who may become stars from South America and other lower leagues.
