Credit to Fiorentina today. They played well. We looked tired and surely didn't deserve more than a point (if that) from this game. Result-wise a draw away to Fiorentina isn't horrible, but the performance was disappointing.

We have Roma coming up this weekend, hopefully we can get some rest and put in a much better performance against them.

Yeah, poor display, even if a draw certainly isn't a bad result.

Looked like Juve went there playing for a draw, but were pretty lucky to get it.

Both teams were crying out for a proper striker to run in behind the opposition to open up some space in the game. Without any threat in behind both teams were able to close down opponents dropping short pretty easily and the midfield never really opened up.

There wasn't any real threat of penetration from the wingbacks, as Pasqual was the only one of the four who showed any interest in attacking the space.

Giaccherini didn't even get himself ahead of the ball the way he normally does when playing in midfield.

Fiorentina at least tried to force some sort of tempo into the game at times. Juve, when in possession, only really seemed interested in keeping the ball among the back three and running down the clock.

Also thought the ref was pretty kind to Juve tonight.

He got the big decisions right, but he was coming down on Juve's side a lot in the general run of things.

Was quicker to book Fiorentina players, too.

Were Juve good or Roma just shite?

Both. We played a perfect first half, could have been up 5-0 at half time, but a lot of it had to do with how poor Roma was.
Dumb foul by Bonucci denied us the clean sheet.

Tomorrow's game against shakhtar at home is going to be crucial to our chances of getting out of this group. We need 3 points against them at home.

Looks like Juve will be playing the same side that faced Chelsea.

Need to get in about Chygrynskiy since he's always been a terrible defender, even if he's a good footballer.

We were lucky to get a point today. This draw makes things quite a bit more difficult for us. We're going to need to get high scoring Nordschaelland, and not lose (hopefully win) against Chelsea and Shakhtar.

Hopefully next time we have a CL game were not coming off an important fixture like Roma.

Edit: We play Napoli before our next Cl fixture...

Really poor showing, both in terms of attitude and organisation.

3-5-2 against one striker systems is always awkward and you need clear plans on how the spare CB is going to play and Juve didn't seem to have that.

It also wasn't clear what Juve wanted the wingbacks to do defensively, either. The were often left in wide areas basically marking no-one while Juve were being overwhelmed in more central areas.

I hadn't watched Shakhtar for a while before this game, so I don't know if that is there normal pattern of play or if Juve were caught out by them doing something different. I guess that was Shakhtar's normal way of playing, though, which means Conte got the tactics wrong or the players didn't follow the instructions.

I'm also not sure to what extent Juve wanted Shakhtar to have the ball. It is entirely possible Juve were happy for them to have possession, but Juve - accustomed to dominating possession - were then terribly hasty in possession themselves and were not the threat on the break that they ought to have been.

There are games in Serie A where Juve are able to mask a lot of failings by being far more athletic then their opponent, but they couldn't do that against Shakhtar, which is something they are going to have to get used to in the CL.

They've a lot to figure out before the game in Ukraine and not winning last night means they'll almost certainly need to get something out of that game.

Conte's ban has been reduced.

He'll be back on the touchline on December the 9th for the game against Palermo.

The Siena game on sunday is a must win. With the Milan derby and Napoli-Udinese this weekend, and our game against Napoli next week, we have to get the three points in this game, we cant afford a draw.
