Some in Zeman's conferenza stampa this morning. I do like his honest, refreshing answers.

On Destro: "He is happier as a centre-forward because he has always played there, but that does not mean he can’t be used elsewhere. I think a striker will attack and try to score whether he starts from the right, the left or the centre."

On De Rossi's injury: "These things can happen, because I think that the injury at the San Siro has not affected this recent injury, they are two separate things."

On Totti/Pjanic: "I think it depends on the presence or absence of Pjanic. They are two creative players and not always two players to build close positive results, so I'm thinking of dividing them."

I think what he means by "dividing them" is to play Pjanic on the right of the midfield trio when Totti is on the left, so they are on opposite sides of the pitch, and not "divide" as in not playing them together, right?

Btw, DDR is so good he's now going to play rugby. I would with compensation for an injury he picks up in this sense. Six Nations beware.

Right, Edzo, Zeman is an honest bloke. However, we don't need any side shows along the lines that we have seen in recent weeks. Just concentrate on getting better and do your job. He does not have to make flippant comments ever time he sees a bloody microphone.

I don't see any sideshows, just sensationalist headlines and over-the-top reactions. Like I said, his answers are honest and refreshing, he says shit how he sees it, like he has always done, and nothings going to change now, nor would I want it to.

(Corriere della Sera – G.Piacentini) Sarà un Olimpico vestito a festa per Roma-Bologna. Come nella gara d’esordio contro il Catania, infatti, oggi pomeriggio sono previsti oltre cinquantamila spettatori. Un numero sotto al quale difficilmente si scenderà in questa stagione e che, anzi, è destinato ad aumentare se la formazione giallorossa continuerà a giocare come ha fatto finora. «Il nostro obiettivo è quello di riportare la gente allo stadio e di farla divertire», è stato lo slogan del d.g. Baldini e di Zeman, che ha ribadito di non sentire il peso del troppo entusiasmo della gente. «È sempre positivo quando c’è entusiasmo, meglio così che giocare con un clima negativo intorno».

I would say that I have seen this all before from Zeman, but I won't. That's because I have seen it under Capello and Spalletti as well over the course of the last 10 years. Nothing will ever change. I will say that I could have written article below on the day Zeman was hired in anticipation of the upcoming season. Well, maybe just the headline.

Zeman commenta la prima sconfitta in campionato, e non è una cosa facile. Sopra di due gol, la Roma sembrava controllare la partita, poi ne ha subiti tre ed è crollata: "Ci siamo accontentati - dice il tecnico boemo a Sky Sport 24 - non siamo stati più aggressivi, non abbiamo cercato delle giocate e siamo andati in balia dell'avversario. Abbiamo preso tre gol su errori grossolani nostri e quindi li abbiamo aiutati".

Dopo i due gol subiti in un minuto, è arrivato il cambio di Piris per l'esordiente Marquinhos. Una bocciatura? "Ho cambiato - spiega Zeman - perché Piris nel primo tempo ha spinto tanto e nel secondo tempo non l'ha fatto più. È un brutto colpo, dopo il primo tempo ero contento. Noi dobbiamo stare sempre concentrati a fare quello che sappiamo fare. Lavoriamo da più di due mesi insieme, qualcosa ci è riuscito e abbiamo fatto. Dare la colpa alle nazionali sarebbe facile, ma non è così. In dieci giorni non si dimentica il lavoro fatto in dieci giorni. Noi dobbiamo mantenere la concentrazione. Questa è e sarà la Roma di Zeman, nel bene e nel male? "Io spero di no, il mio concetto è cercare di stare corti come squadra e stare più lontani dalla nostra porta, oggi invece ci siamo messi sui sedici metri".

Yeah, you can lose a game through dodgy refereeing or bad luck, or whatever, so it can happen. Losing this game this way was unacceptable.

The team might as well have stayed in the locker room during the second half. That was just pathetic. The energy we saw in the first half was completely gone. There was no effort to win the ball back, and it looked like we just wanted to sit back and close out the game. A stark difference to what we see against inter last week where we kept attacking throughout the game. Really disappointing result.
