The deal makes much more sense for Milan.

They are able to sort the imbalance in their strikeforce, where they currently have three SS and only one CF.

Inter, on the other hand, get a player for a position for which they already seem to have adequate cover.

I also don't see Cassano and Sneijder working that well together. Both need movement around them and they ain't going to provide that for each other.

we got cassano for free. so we picked up pazzini for 7m. which is a damn good deal if you ask me.

i'm not sure why moratti has a hard-on for cassano, but i'm fine with it. pazzini is the prima punta we've needed.

Allegri will be pleased to have got rid of just about his last technically skilful player. I suspect he doesn't want anyone in his squad who can show him up on the training-ground by doing tricks he can't. What formation are Sphincter playing? Is it a 4-3-3 with Sneijder at the top of a midfield triangle, so really a 4-2-3-1? Years ago Capello, I think it was, said that Cassano's 'natural' position was playing out to in down the left in a 4-2-3-1. If it works, his link-up play with Sneijder will be very tidy and so long as you get enough movement from the fullbacks and from Milito it could be pretty effective. And in that shape you'd find at least 5 players across that trequartista line would see plenty of game-time over the course of a season, so I'm not sure it need compromise Coutinho's, Palacio's, and Alvarez's opportunities too much.

God it's practically official. I'm not doubting Cassano's talent but rather his attitude and will to train like a professional..apart from having Coutinho rot on the bench. Maro in a 4-2-3-1 formation you need 2 midfielders who can cover the defence. If Cambiasso is one of those 2, then we're already screwed.

Gargano? Jesus, didnt see that one coming either. He's a solid defensive midfielder, but nothing great, a back up to Cambiasso like Lomba said. Whats with all the mediocre signings, is Moratti not willing to splash the cash?
