ROMA - Una delle partite più vergognose nella storia recente del nostro calcio va in scena a Pechino, in modo che tutto il mondo possa vedere. Vedere quanto i nostri arbitri sono scarsi, ammalati di protagonismo, inaffidabili. Nella notte cinese, ce n’è per tutti i gusti. E a noi non resta che arrossire. Lo scandalo che rovina la Supercoppa, consegnandola alla Juve, vive di tre momenti fondamentali. Innanzitutto il rigore del pareggio, al 74’ (perché fino a quel momento il Napoli era in vantaggio): lo assegna ingiustamente Rizzoli, stavolta non arbitro ma assistente d’area, in pratica quello che sta sulla linea di fondo per aiutare il direttore di gara (è la novità di giornata ed è un immediato fallimento). Forse per far vedere di esistere, lui che ha partecipato agli Europei e probabilmente si sente sminuito a stare in un angolo del campo, Rizzoli decide di diventare protagonista e aiuta sì Mazzoleni, ma a sciupare la partita. E a indirizzarla. Poi interviene Stefani, guardalinee numero due, che segnala una presunta offesa di Pandev nei suoi confronti: se l’ha sentita, lontano com’era, deve avere un udito speciale (alla Superman, diremmo). E comunque, i grandi arbitri ci hanno insegnato che a volte è opportuno far finta di non sentire: questione di buon senso. Già, i grandi arbitri... La botta finale la dà Mazzoleni in persona, con una serie di decisioni sbagliate e a senso unico, fino alla clamorosa espulsione di Zuniga che, al 93’, subisce un fallo netto (ignorato), commette un mezzo intervento irregolare e riceve il secondo cartellino giallo. Attenzione: Zuniga era stato ammonito la prima volta dopo che gli era stata negata una punizione solare al limite dell’area. Due falli a favore trasformati in espulsione: bravo Mazzoleni, questo è un record mondiale, roba da Bolt. A completare il quadro, questo piccolo arbitro allontana dal campo Mazzarri, che perde un po’ la pazienza. Nota a margine: Mazzoleni è famoso nel mondo arbitrale, oltre che per essere stato salvato dalla pensione grazie a una sorprendente promozione a internazionale, per la parsimonia nell’impiego dei cartellini. Li ha recuperati tutti ieri: perché? La stagione, insomma, non comincia male: comincia malissimo. Ci pensi Abete, che presiede al movimento: è alla guida di un mondo che dà un’immagine allucinante di sé e perde credibilità ogni giorno di più. E Nicchi, presidente dell’Aia, ci faccia la cortesia di non indignarsi per le critiche. E’ il Napoli a essere indignato per ciò che ha subito (e lo dimostra con un gesto clamoroso, disertando la premiazione). E anche noi lo siamo, perché già in pieno agosto i suoi pessimi arbitri hanno rovinato una giornata di grande calcio, trasformandola in uno scandalo. Uno scandalo che qualcuno deve pagare, perché il calcio italiano non può permettersi di nascondere le proprie vergogne. Altrimenti diventerà peggiore di quello che è.

Maicon in Inter’s Europa League squad

Douglas Maicon has been included by Andrea Stramaccioni in Inter’s Europa League squad for the Play-off round.

The Nerazzurri face Vaslui in a two-legged play-off tie in August for a place in the group stages of this season’s Europa League and today confirmed their 30-man squad of players registered.

Whilst Julio Cesar and Giampaolo Pazzini have again been left out, right-back Maicon has surprisingly been included.

The 31-year-old has been heavily linked with a move out of San Siro this summer and did not feature in the previous qualifying round of the Europa League, with compatriot Jonathan playing in his place.

However, amid rumours today that Inter are struggling to find a buyer at their €8m asking price, Maicon looks to have been granted a reprieve at the club.

Inter travel to Romania for the first leg against Vaslui on August 23, before welcoming them to Italy a week later. In between these games the team will begin their Serie A campaign away to Pescara.

Honestly I'll be happy with any midfielder we might get. I have started to even like Mudingayi as long as he can actually run, unlike Fatasso...Indeed De Jong risks getting quite a few red cards in Italy and we all know how much refs like to hand them over to us, unlike Milan or Juve. When Muntari used to be with us he used to be handed an automatic yellow card just for his mere presence with our shirt...now that he's a Milan player, it seems like things are different. Same used to happen with Vieira and even Paul Ince for those who remember him...
Anyway he was a starter in Man. City's star studded side up till last sunday, so we certainly can't complain no given our current midfield roster...

Wage demands hit Inter-De Jong deal

Inter look to be in pole position for Manchester City’s Nigel de Jong, but need movement from the player on his wage demands.

The Dutch midfielder’s contract at Eastlands expires in June 2013 and he is being heavily linked with a departure, particularly with Jack Rodwell’s arrival at the club this weekend.

Sportmediaset name Massimo Moratti’s club as in prime contention for the 27-year-old, except for in negotiations on his contract. The midfielder currently earns €3.5m, which the San Siro outfit are keen to see reduced.

The Nerazzurri are also chasing more expensive alternatives for midfield in Paulinho of Corinthians and Fernando of Porto.

Also, he can be a bit of a loose cannon but there is no denying he is a quality midfielder. I'm sure Sneijder has had something do with convincing him to join us if the move does go through.

Handanovic undergoes operation

Inter 'keeper Samir Handanovic has had surgery after suffering a knee injury in training.

The news was announced on the Nerazzurri's official website earlier today.

“Samir Handanovic had an operation this morning following an injury to the meniscus of his right knee in training,” the notice read. “The treatment - carried out via arthroscopy – was a complete success.”

“The operation - at the IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo in Pavia - was the work of Professor Franco Benazzo, with Inter's chief of medical staff Franco Combi in attendance.”

It's a blow for Inter, who spent €11m to prise the Slovenian shotstopper away from Udinese just a month and a half ago. The club did not specify when they expect Handanovic to return to action.

Inter push for double Porto deal

Inter are looking for a double deal with Porto, snapping up both Alvaro Pereira for €10.5m and Fernando on loan.

Director Marco Branca was spotted in Oporto this week to conclude the negotiations for Alvaro Pereira, securing the full-back for a reported €10.5m plus €1.5m in bonuses.

There had been competition from Napoli for the Uruguayan, but the Nerazzurri appear to have won out.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, that wasn’t the only point to the meeting with Porto, as Inter are also targeting midfielder Fernando.

He would follow in the footsteps of Fredy Guarin, arriving at San Siro on loan with option to buy at the end of the season.

“Fernando on loan to Inter? I think that’s a hypothesis that has a foundation of truth to it, considering the economic situations of the two clubs,” his agent told Antena 1.

The Corriere dello Sport claims Porto would like Ricky Alvarez included as part of the deal for the Brazilian.

Palacio at the double for Inter

Birthday boy Esteban Cambiasso and a Rodrigo Palacio brace allowed Inter to crush Tunisian side Club Athletique Bizertin 3-0.

The Saturday night friendly against the four-times champions of Tunisia was played in Switzerland and represented their last test before the Europa League play-offs against Vaslui on August 23.

Samir Handanovic is out for around three weeks after undergoing knee surgery, so Luca Castellazzi filled in the gloves, while Juan Jesus and Matias Silvestre formed a new defensive partnership.

Philippe Coutinho rattled the woodwork in the opening minute

Cambiasso celebrated his birthday with a rare goal, set up by Douglas Maicon and Palacio to open the scoring from the edge of the box.

Palacio netted either side of the half-time break thanks to a control and strike from Wesley Sneijder’s assist and tapping in the rebound from Diego Milito’s parried effort.

Galliani confirms Cassano-Inter talks

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani has confirmed “there are negotiations in place” with Inter for Antonio Cassano and Giampaolo Pazzini.

“There are two weeks left in the market, we’ll see what happens,” said the transfer guru after tonight’s 3-2 Trofeo Berlusconi defeat to Juventus.

Cassano had been expected to play, but was not even at San Siro for the match, instead reportedly at his home in Genoa as talks gain momentum for his exchange with Inter striker Pazzini.

“We’ll talk with the President and the Coach, consider things and then make a decision,” continued Galliani.

“There are negotiations in place, there is no doubt about that, and we will see. As with all negotiations, they can conclude positively or negatively. I will not deny something is stirring. It was Cassano who requested a transfer.”

President Silvio Berlusconi was also at the match and was asked about the Cassano-Pazzini exchange.

“I know nothing about it,” he smiled.

There are conflicting reports on what the transfer involves, as some have claimed Milan would have to hand over Cassano plus €5-10m cash in order to get the younger Pazzini.

FantAntonio is eager to leave the Rossoneri after becoming frustrated at the sales of stars like Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva.
