this is what happens when you lose all the senators in quick succession. this is probably why ambrosini continues, but even he won't last more than one season and suddenly the entire culture of the club is gone.

there's a give and take with everything i guess, the younger you go the less discipline there is. all these young primadonna's seem to lack any respect for the culture and tradition with the club.

watched the game against the honduran team yesterday. it was a complete mismatch so it's really hard to tell if we were great or they were bad.

few notes:

el sharaawy is not a goal scorer. he's a dribbler and gets into decent positions, but he can't hit the back of the net if his life depended on it.
constant looks pretty good, he's a technical player with enough hustle for allegri to be happy.
acerbi looks alright, he knows how to turn on and protect the ball in possession, he's a left footer.
cassano and robinho play incredibly well together. give them somebody in the box and we'd have a wonderful combo right there.

i've also been watching gabriel, our new 3rd goalkeeper, the kid from brazil.

he's a younger version of abbiati.

and we all know that it is not a compliment.

so we've picked up pazzini for 7m with cassano going in the other direction. not a bad deal if you ask me.

if we can pick up a LB and some technical midfielder like sahin, then i'd be content with our revolution.

I've never really rated Pazzini; his movement in the box is pretty sharp, so he can be devastating at getting on the end of things, which is something I tend to admire because it's often under-rated by the youtube generation, but I'm not sure his all-round game is that good - because his link-up play's not great. Sounds perfect for Allegri, then - get rid of a technical player who can make the ball sing and bring in an incisive centre-forward who'll gut your chances of playing any constructive football. Pack the team with athletic runners and try to score on the break or with an early cross. Very English. Could be worse, I suppose - he could be doing it to Roma.

New thigh injury for Pato

Milan striker Alexandre Pato has sustained another thigh injury in training today, so he’s expected to miss the season opener with Sampdoria. The Brazilian missed most of last term with a series of muscular problems and his appearance at the Trofeo Berlusconi on Sunday was his first San Siro match in six months.

The Rossoneri released a statement this afternoon confirming Pato had suffered “a problem to the left thigh” and will undergo tests over the next few days. It is not clear how bad the damage is, but according to reports it could prompt Milan to run to the transfer market for potential back-ups. They signed Giampaolo Pazzini from Inter today in exchange for Antonio Cassano and €7m cash.
