Supposedly we have increased our offer, €2m for a loan with a further €3m to buy outright. Balzaretti would be a very good signing, he would be a big upgrade on anything we have at left-back at the moment. Don't understand why we wouldn't just make an offer of €5m+ straight up, though, I mean whats the point of loaning a 30-year-old with an option to buy?! We know what he brings to the table, just buy him.

Also thinking back on the game one thing I forgot to mention was how great Labont was. The El Salvador striker was put through twice and both times not only did Labont save it, but he caught the shots not giving up the rebound.

Sono gli ultimi contratti pesanti che la Roma è costretta a sostenere: una zavorra, con tutto il rispetto per i diretti interessati. Borriello è in attesa di una proposta dall’Inghilterra che ancora non è arrivata, i segnali del Tottenham sono rimasti tali. Il faccia a faccia con il ds del Genoa, Stefano Capozzucca, in occasione della visita dei rossoblù a Trigoria per chiudere l’affare Destro, non ha ancora sortito effetti. L’attaccante continua ad allenarsi nel quartiere generale romanista, come Pizarro e Perrotta.

MERCATO FERMO - Il cileno ha fatto sapere che non intende muoversi dalla Capitale, a meno di una destinazione top: per ora ha declinato un invito della Sampdoria e uno del River Plate. Se non si presenterà il Manchester City di turno (o la Juventus), il Pek difficilmente darà il benestare alla partenza: al più potrebbe fare le valigie a gennaio e anticipare di sei mesi il ritorno programmato in Cile. Discorso simile per Perrotta, escluso dalla tournée in Usa e senza nuove destinazioni all’orizzonte. Il centrocampista ha il contratto in scadenza nel 2013 e al momento non sa ancora cosa gli riserverà il futuro. Resta sotto contratto anche Julio Sergio, che ha ottenuto dalla vecchia proprietà un accordo da 1,4 milioni lordi, che diventeranno settecento mila euro nell’ultimo anno, fino al 2014.

That sure is a lot of wages to be carrying for players who are no longer wanted, it seems. Borriello earns a big chunk of it I think, hopefully we can convince some of the dumb EPL clubs to take him off our hands. Maybe we could get Ermes to make a You'Chewb video with those 25,000 goals he scored?

If I'm not mistaken Perrotta earns €2.6m a season and was renewed only at the start of this year. I think initially he signed a new contract in 2011 but had an option for another year which he took up, so now it runs until 2013. I thought he could have been useful for this season as a back-up. Poor old Pizarro just doesn't fit in this system, he'll have to accept that a move on.

How about Romagnoli? This kid is still only 17 and has impressed everyone a great deal, and it looks like he will be part of the first-team squad as back-up to Burdisso-Castan, alongside Heinze. I still wish we'd get rid of Heinze, of course, but its great to have Romagnoli there and and to have another very promising young Roman make the breakthrough with us.

MERCATO ROMA - Alessio Romagnoli ha conquistato tutti in questa prima parte della stagione. Il giovane centrale difensivo giallorosso, dopo il doppio salto di categoria compiuto in un solo anno (il giovane aveva iniziato la scorsa stagione negli Allievi Nazionali, per passare poi nella Primavera di Alberto De Rossi ed infine in Prima squadra con Zeman) ha convinto tutti in queste prime uscite amichevoli dei giallorossi. Ulteriore conferma sono stati i 90 minuti disputati contro El Salvador. Stando a quanto riporta 'calciomercato.com', attualmente la rosa giallorossa vede la presenza di quattro i difensori in rosa (Burdisso, Castan, il jolly Heinze e lo stesso Romagnoli): sempre in stand-by Uvini, che non convince pienamente il ds Sabatini. Al termine del ritiro di Irdning andrà in scena l'ultimo vertice di mercato estivo, dal quale scaturità il nome dell'ultimo difensore da comprare. Se ce ne sarà bisogno.
