I agree with Bagg on this. They've been making a big deal out of the whole 3 star jersey saga and who will inherit the #10. Is this what is going to happen every season Juve win a scudetto?? There's going to be some stink about "numero 31 on the field", etc. Let's move on.....it was fucked up what happened 6 years but that cloud can't be hanging over Juve every time they win. When Milan were demoted 20+ years ago, were they saying "#19 on the field, blah blah blah". Let's get over this nonsense, sign a big name striker (although I would like a defender) and just play calcio.

Conte and Pepe cited for failing to notify the authorities of potential match-fixing. They risk bans of several months.

Bonucci is accused of being more actively involved in match-fixing. His ban could be years.

There's not really much to say until the hearing, and we figure out what the verdicts/sentences(if found guilty) are. I read some rumors linking us to Bocchetti or Bruno Alves in case Bonucci is out for a while.

If Bonucci has a multi-year ban, that could be a blessing in disguise. He may have rescued Juve's season with some goals but he could've easily been at fault for blowing the whole thing along with Chiellini. I guess now is a good time to get a big time defender, a young defender, and hopefully develop a left back. Please, nobody mention DeCeglie because he's a bum and an average player. He's trade bait, at best and possibly a beneficiary of looking like a celebrity.

I'm sorry guys but I don't understand how you can watch this pathetic garbage known as Serie A. It's like a wife you love who constantly cheats behind your back. Just when you thought she's changed her ways, she comes back around and you catch her in bed with the mailman, again. This whole situation that involves Conte and Bonucci leaves the club embarrassed and red faced after the whole saga of "30 on the field". They've preached restoring integrity and dignity to the club and they employ Conte as coach. Someone didn't do their homework. Despite a phenomenal season, this puts a damper on the excitement of CL football and possibly winning back to back titles. In my eyes, the whole league is guilty of sporting fraud. The integrity of the league is constantly compromised decade after decade. Every team is guilty, top to bottom. You can pass all the sentencing/fines you want but in the end it doesn't matter because it will happen again. For Juve, after all that bullshit they went through with the calicopoli, they now got to go through with this? Come on, it feels like last season was wiped out and the ghosts of sporting fraud will always come back to haunt them.

Agreed completely, JI. When does this drama stop?? This constant crying from coaches week in and week out about the same problems over the past 20 years: "Referees this, referees that". Between the bitching of coaches and club presidents on a weekly basis combined with the every 5-10 year sporting fraud scandal it becomes very difficult to follow a league with no integrity.You don't get this shit in American sports. Sparingly, you might get a scandal here and there of 1 individual but nothing to the degree of sporting fraud in a mass amount of players, coaches, presidents and outside forces. It is disgusting if you ask me. This summer is pretty much shot in terms of football news. We won't know anything until the sentencing is carried out for Conte. What is even more troubling is how nobody knew about this. Conte did a phenomenal job but who the fuck didn't do their homework on this and how did it slip through the cracks? Someone needs to be held accountable for the employment of these people. This is completely embarassing even if he wasn't a Juve coach when it happened but as a fan I'm ashamed. I'm even more disappointed because of Juve's accomplishments last season. After Juve's efforts to restore integrity and honesty (which fell massively short if you ask me) to the club, this news comes out a year later. Everyone should be embarassed, from Agnelli down to the janitor at the stadium. Molinaro should be embarassed as well since his demotion to assisstant janitor.

If Conte maintains he is innocent, I don't see why Juve shouldn't have appointed him.

The evidence against Conte comes from a statement from Carobbio that says Conte made comments that made it clear he knew the game was fixed.

Every other Siena player/coach denies Conte said anything of the sort.

Unless there is more evidence that hasn't come out, it's hard to see how Conte can be found guilty on that basis.

If the prosecutors find Carobbio so trustworthy, why hasn't every Siena player who was at that meeting been accused? They must all have failed to report the fix too.

carobbio, from my understanding, is an important witness/whistle-blower for the prosecution. so if it comes out that he has lied about conte's involvement, then his entire testimony would be thrown out compromising the case. i doubt the prosecution would want that. that's what i got from it, i could be wrong.

Pathetic. If Conte claims to be innocent, why a plea bargain? That usually admits partial guilt, if not 100% guilt. I kind of don't blame him either considering how calciopoli went down. There's no faith in the sporting judicial system. Juve can do without Bonucci and Pepe.

For what it's worth, I think Conte probably is guilty of knowing about a fix and not reporting it.

I don't think I'd be offering a plea bargain if I was the prosecutor.

They believe the have the evidence to get Conte and the sporting tribunal stacks everything in their favour, so why not go for getting the maximum suspension?
